Description

An outside threat reaches your homeland, a quiet northern island. You play as Fjor, a young warrior among those born under the Fate of the Guardian, blessed with exceptional combat prowess. But that alone is not enough to defeat the invaders and protect what's sacred to your people.

Walking the path of a Warden, explore the island above and below the surface: forgotten caves and ominous forests, gloomy catacombs and sacred ruins, where you shall fight hordes of monsters, discover well-hidden secrets and harness ancestral legacy.

Intricate Combat System

Inspired by the best of the hack-and-slash genre, Divinum has a wide range of options to master and experiment with. Launch enemies into the air, where they are unable to act or escape while Fjør gains access to unique moves. Unleash unstoppable combos with two distinct primary weapons and special skills. Leave your foes no chance with quick dodges, blocks, and parries.

Impactful Collectible Equipment

Explore the world, look for secrets and fight bosses to find Runes that meaningfully change how you fight. A 5% damage item? You won't find anything this boring in Divinum. Runes can provide anything from solid unique bonuses to modifiers that can completely change how you approach battles — but great power often comes with trade-offs.

Test Your Skills and Be Rewarded

Across the island, dangerous trials and ancient evil await you. Conquer them all and claim generous rewards.

A good experience but not a good ending

Frankly I was surprised to say the least. I got the second weapon after beating the gurdian, went over the starting area and the final sequence just....arrived I guess. I didn't even realize i was at the end of the game. I felt like there were more abilities and secret to unlock but I didn't do it right away because I felt like I still couldn't go to certain places on the map. The combat was definitly the main attraction of the game. Very fast, intuitive and satisfaying. The story.....was there. Not really something more that a vehicle to keep the plot running. I would give more but the ending really gave me a felling that i can best describe as "that's it?" Felt very sudden and anti-climactic

Know Your Enemy...

The game is by all accounts a metroidvania or Castlevania style of action adventure. The graphics were fine and the action can become fairly chaotic as the game progressed. I managed to finish the game with a 93% completion rate. I did miss some of the timed challenges and did 23 waves of the 40 or 50 wave Battle mode, think of this as a Boss rush mode. What I enjoyed the most was the exploration and the fluidity of the combat. Like most games of this type, you can become increasing more powerful as you gain more skills and abilities throughout the game. These range from being able to wall climb to dashing through mid air in any direction. The mid air dashing becomes extremely useful when tackling the variety of bosses on offer here. You will be blocking, dashing, changing weapons, using techniques, spinning your spear/staff and using a combination of runes and skills to adapt to the challenge ahead. Fury also comes into play as your combination count increases, this which when combined with your skills can add more variety to the combat. The bosses were fun, especially the Guard Champion, Sacred knights and Final Boss. On a negative note, the game doesn't do anything new, but what the game does do is bring fast fluid combat with an underlying story running in the background. Your weapons maybe limited, as you only receive a sword and later a spear/staff to battle the enemies, but you can mix and match different skills to give a variety of combinations to your combat. Also, the runes you can find can be assigned, up to five; to provide different benefits to your character's progression. Crystals called Sanctite and emblems called rites of passage can be used to purchase mastery techniques, each technique has a clear tutorial on how to use them in gameplay. There are plenty of secrets to find in the game, which can increase your maximum health and mana. Mana is used to activate your skills. I enjoyed my time with the game and I would recommend it for fans of the genre. Overall 4/5, why not five? well the controls do take time to adapt to, especially if you are changing your weapons back and forth mid combat. The combat is essentially the main selling point of the game. Version Reviewed v1.04f.

Short but satisfying Hack n' SlashVania

Some really, really good bones here; finished with just over 6 hours. Pros: Excellent art style, satisfying combat, great sound. Cons-ish: Controls can be a little bit touchy, game would probably benefit from some enhanced accessibility options, ending feels rushed and was a bit disappointing. I would definitely look forward to more chapters, world building, etc. because the potential here is fantastic.

Short, fun indie game!

Has great flow. Wants to tell a story and it does so. It is not too flashy, has a simpleness to it that really shines. Great fun!
