Lefties beware!

You will have a very hard time playing (enjoying?) this game. 1. Most of the essential keys can not be re-bound ("binding FAILED") - and some keys are hard-locked for absolutely no reason (like the interaction key is and will always be "F", period). CDPR have not learned from the mistakes made in Witcher 3 - a game I couldn't play for years because of these restrictions. This alone results in a one star review because it completely breaks the game for me. 2. CP2077 is not ready for prime time as it suffers from abysmal performance. If you don't have a very high-end setup you might be in for a slide show unless you reduce the level of detail considerably. The official system requirements for CP2077 are clearly misleading. 3. Updating to the latest drivers solved most of the graphical glitches I had on my 1080 Ti. BTW this 1080 Ti was able to push about 40 fps at 1440p and custom medium-low settings. I'm waiting for the devs to fix 1. but won't hesitate to ask for a refund if they refuse to do so.

Disappointing - Not an RPG

Lets start with the good - Night city is absolutely beatiful, the art team did a fantastic job, however it feels all feels fake as you cannot explore interiors outside of story missions and shops. - The soundtrack is great - Story is good and there are some pretty great side quests. The Bad - This game is advertised as an RPG, but you are given few meaningful choices, the only ones that exist were shown in the marketing and the ending. It gives the impression that (bugs aside) this game is unfinished as even those choices are more flavour than anything. There were many times I wanted to do - The bugs, while I got fairly lucky and only really experienced UI bugs the state of this game for others is utterly unacceptable. - Performance, with a 1080 ti and 2600x I get about 45 fps in interiors and 25-35 outside, lowering settings only decreases gpu usage and does not improve framrate (I actually expericed lower lows after lowering settings) - UI is absolutely TERRIBLE and is clearly designed only with controllers in mind. - AI is terrible - Guns combat is average, but melee combat is poor and floaty - Driving is bad - You can't remap all your buttons (more proof this game is designed only with consoles in mind) also dodging is mapped to double tapping a direction, I don't know who though that was a good idea. - People calling you all the time to do boring repetative jobs. - I wish it would take itself more serouisly, I don't want a game where I can chase people with a vibrator. Conclusion This game is a buggy mess and seems like it is unfinished, beyond that it is surrounded by false advertising to make it sound like an RPG, when in fact you have no control over the story other than the ending. It should have been delayed another year or two in order to make a game worth $60. There is still a decent game here but I would not buy it in its current state and it is worth closer to $40. Honestly I'm just sad, this could have been something amazing but its just not.

Fails as an RPG

Current Cyberpunk 2077 impressions. 7 hours 47 minutes. Jank: - Too janky for AAA. Virtually every aspect of the game is at least *somewhat* bugged. - Poorly optimized no matter the hardware - Audio mixing seems off. The dialogue is often not loud enough for the music. Narrativ: - V has more personality than he/she should. - Female V's voice acting is goofy. She's trying to sound "badass" but instead sounds like a young boy pretending to be older. - Several contrived story beats. - I've no interest in Keanu or Silverhand, but it's at least 50% his story, not yours - the player. Gameplay: - The skilltree is boring. Many %-bonuses. - Can't hide the come fuck me arrows (objective markers). - No universal character death. Can't kill those obnoxious YouTube "celebrities." - Can't reject cyberwear. No purist runs allowed. - Melee stealth build is comepletely pointless thanks to instakill options. - Stealth in general is extremely simple. - AI is braindead in many combat scenarios. - In general, the game is very easy even on the hardest difficulty. - Loot is entirely pointless. Other: - Nudity censorship in-game no matter the settings or what was promised (Underwear bug/censor). Current score: 7.0 (Subject to later change)

Not the game I was hoping for

World is beautiful and it has huge potential, but it feels like it was squandered away. Here is my list: -It's not open world when you lock sections of it based on story. -Artefact glitches -Huge amount of useless guns, worse then Borderlands -Locked key bindings -Performance issues -Pedestrians pop in and out all the time -Cops start shooting at you for literally nothing, bot don't say a thing when I am walking down the street with a bazooka in hand -No reason to go to your apartment and use the stash as it is pretty much useless -So many things but nothing worth to interact with -Was hoping to go in a bar and do braindance and whatnot (even GTA 5 had lap dances and sex in cars) -Gun vendors sell the same stuff -Hacking is useless and a joke, in the tabletop you could surf the net -Stealth is a joke -Gun levelling... are you serious? What is there to level up on a bloody gun? Oiling the mechanism? -Not to mention clothing levelling. Changing the shoelaces? Sewing on new buttons? -Crafting is a joke, not even close to what Fallout 4 has -No hidden gems of places with collectibles and such -UI is crap, it's sensory overload and hard to navigate As a person who loves Fallout 3, NV and 4, I feel like this game is a major step back in open world RPGs. I am deeply disappointed so far. No matter how good the story is, or how interesting the characters are the world doesn't invite you in. You don't feel the need having to go in to a small alleyway, or dark corner as there is nothing there. Nothing to see, nothing to experience. It was developed for 7 years? If this would have been out in 2015, I would have said, that it is decent. But after all the previous advancements in open world rpgs, this is a massive let-down. Haven't finished Act1 yet. If the game won't open up more and give me more options in terms of crafting, hacking, stashing, buying new apartments, etc... then this review won't change. Might just play one of the old Fallout games or GTA 5 at this point.

CDPR's worst game (I am serious)

In some aspects its amazing, but unfortunately these aspects are very shortlived. Quests can be fantastic, but they're never at the level of Witcher 2, 3 or Thronebreaker. All optimization and bug issues aside (which to be honest is about 15-20% of the game) the game is not nearly as tightly written as their previous titles. I'll give you the most blatant example, just coming out of Act 1, you JUST have a life and death moment with a certain character. You then exit the building your in, get in your car and suddenly get smashed into by a psycho AI car, no biggie, sounds interesting. Only for your V to then react calmly, asking the person WHO WAS JUST TRYING TO KILL YOU if they saw that you just saw. Are you seriously telling me no one in CDPR thought this was a glaring inconsistency STRAIGHT OUT OF THE PROLOGUE? Literally the first thing that happens is completely inconsistent with the tone of what immediately preceded it. Gameplay wise its meh, I enjoy the shooting but I don't love it. Its very very bullet spongey which makes me feel like I'm playing a worse off Borderlands, and its very loot filled which gives off Deus Ex Mankind divided vibes, only 99% of stuff is trash. The bit thats REALLY grinding my gears though is the AI. Fixing something like this isn't possible, because there's nothing to fix - the AI isn't broken, its not there at all. Why in 2077 would police chase you ON FOOT rather than getting into their cars? How do they suddenly spawn behind you after you commit a crime despite you being in the middle of nowhere completely alone? Why do the NPCs not only all look exactly the same but do exactly the same thing, which is absolutely nothing, when interacted with? I watched a guy walk up to a chinese food stand, only to pull out a pizza FROM HIS POCKET. There's so much more to talk about in terms of whats wrong with this game but I don't have enough characters left to do it. This game simply isn't good enough in its current state.
