Story:
Like the previous title, Theme Park World tasks players with managing a series of amusement parks. To do this, the player must choose how to spend their available funds, finding a way to expand the number and scope of their parks while remaining profitable. Income from the park can be used to purchase new rides or attractions, hire staff to maintain the park, and other similar functions. Various elements can be controlled by the player, such as the name of the park, the price of admission, the layout of the roller-coaster tracks, and the quality of food in the park restaurants. An ant-like announcer by the name of Buzzy, voiced by Terry McGovern in the American-tailored Sim Theme Park and Lewis MacLeod in UK release Theme Park World, helps the player with advice during gameplay.

I owned a CD-ROM of this game back in the day. By now, it is scratched beyond recognition and unable to start; and any attempt to run in on my Windows 8 System was already unsuccessful. This game was - in my opinion - really really fun. The unlockable themes for the parks, the challenges, both simple and difficult, the minute details of people puking RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE TOILETS and the ever present announcer, telling the player fun tidbits like "We've discovered a new ride!" and "You might want to consider opening the gates. People can't get in!" and of course "You know.. a feature as in 'Let's sit down on that feature and take the load off'". It is cartoony, but not to the extreme, and the fact that every ride has an on-ride camera makes it really fun to just open the sandbox, create the most ridiculous coasters and just ride them while the people outside bang on the park gates.

This game had a ton of character, and being able to walk around your park and ride the attractions was so novel at the time. I never owned a copy but my friend and I would play it at their house. Our parks never lasted too long because no matter what you did you'd end up in the red. Still, it's be amazing to revisit this quirky game and see if perhaps I could do better than I used to!

It's my wife's favorite simulator game, and many childhood memories. Also it's hard to get working on modern systems so most work arounds don't work. Unlike a lot of older games you can make it manage..... She would spend hours and hours on it so it holds a speical place in her heart.
I have cried over this game lol.! I tried to play it numerous times in the last 15 years and it's never compatible. This is one of the best games I have ever played and it reminds me of a time when everything was right in the world. I am a huge theme park buff and this is the only game to this day that I really and truly loved. Roller coaster tycoon? Absolutely not. I even sometimes look up other's playing this game on YouTube because I miss it so much!

This is not only a game is a childhood remember times, it makes me feel when everything in life was ok with no adults worries. A must have as a 90s kid, please hear us GOG, the only reason I have GOG platform it's because of games like this. Much love.
I know this as Theme Park World, and I absolutely loved it. I would have been about 7 or 8 when it came out and I played it for years and years afterwards. It still maintains a place amongst my favourite games today. The ability to walk around or ride the rides was just so good, I loved the little ant/cannon ball character helping you out, I loved the themed areas; it was brilliant. I would buy it instantly if it ever returns.
C'est vrai que faire les attractions comme si on y était c'était juste top. J'en ai passé des heures à construire des coasters tous plus fous les uns que les autres.
I remember playing Theme Park World on an old PC in my childhood. It's an early entry in the 3D theme park management sim genre, and it's pretty simplistic in comparison to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 (which would arrive later) but the simplicity is absolutely made up for by the amount of charm and personality that has been put into the game, its parks and its mascot - helped by the fact that - being one of the early entries in its genre - you could see it as if you were in the park with the first person view. This game is notoriously difficult to get running on modern Windows - hell, even Windows 2000 and XP struggle. While the games can be emulated using a retro x86 emulator like PCem (or its fork 86Box), this comes at the cost of requiring a powerful CPU to emulate a computer capable of running a Windows 9x OS and the game, and the game won't be as performant as the emulated components may not be powerful enough to handle the game. The PlayStation versions don't really cut it for me either, I definitely prefer the PC version, and it would be great if GOG could preserve this game and have it running on modern Windows without emulation.
Memories of this game, my mom couldn't get enough money within the time limit so she did what I call the "Six Flags Gambit." She put a Fries shop and a Soda shop right next to one another; fries were 50 cents, high quality, and mega salty. Sodas were high quality, good amount of ice, and like 20 bucks each. The money kept ticking up faster than we could keep up, and the lines for the soda was INSANE. 10/10 would Six Flags Gambit again.
I have so many good memories of playing this game with my brother on our family PC! I have seen how hard it is to get my CD copy working on modern systems so I would LOVE to see it on GOG with an easy install. Please get this running!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
