Story:
Like the previous title, Theme Park World tasks players with managing a series of amusement parks. To do this, the player must choose how to spend their available funds, finding a way to expand the number and scope of their parks while remaining profitable. Income from the park can be used to purchase new rides or attractions, hire staff to maintain the park, and other similar functions. Various elements can be controlled by the player, such as the name of the park, the price of admission, the layout of the roller-coaster tracks, and the quality of food in the park restaurants. An ant-like announcer by the name of Buzzy, voiced by Terry McGovern in the American-tailored Sim Theme Park and Lewis MacLeod in UK release Theme Park World, helps the player with advice during gameplay.

It was around 2007 or 2008 when I first experienced this game. One of my friends parents was throwing out old stuff they no longer wanted and they had Theme Park World, Dungeon Keeper 2 and Command and Conquer generals on disc. At that time the only thing I really had to do on my laptop was play roblox so my friend gave me those 3 games. I installed all the games onto my laptop and spent hours on them after school. Out of all the games I played on my laptop as a kid. This one is the hardest to get in 2025. Command and Conquer is avaiable on EA and Steam, and Dungeon Keeper 2 is on GOG so to have this available on GOG to play again would be nice.

An absolute classic! I've lost count of the number of times I played this game through as a kid. It was the ultimate laid back, comfort game. The music, the voice acting, the rides, the (funnily enough) themes - everything was perfect. I have searched for years to try and find a theme park sim that replicates the magic that this one offered, but nothing comes close, so I would buy this game again in a heartbeat. PLEASE re-release it! I don't know if this will help the case, but here's a little tale for anyone who has fond memories of TPW: Around 2011, I had the fortune of meeting Lewis Macleod (voice of The Advisor). After summoning the courage to say hello, I reminded him of his role in this game. He took a few moments to process what I'd said, so I was really concerned I got the wrong person, but suddenly his eyes lit up and a huge smile crept across his face. He then proceeded to recount various expletive-ladened outtakes that sadly never made it to the game. Imagine the 'ride has broken down' line or anything related to toilets, then add a few F-bombs. He grew more animated with each line and by the end was belly-laughing at remembering them all. There were quite a few people in earshot and no-one knew what on earth he was talking about, but I had a smile from ear to ear experiencing such a funny twist on an iconic role. If you ever get the chance to see him at a convention, make sure you ask him about his time on Theme Park World!
Fantastic game. A simplified park builder with smart features like an easy coaster builder and patrol path boxes for staff to simplify setting up a park. Uniquely as well all the rides and features are linked to the theme of the park which just increases the fun factor of building and managing your park. Also you could go into first person mode to ride the all the rides. I tried to get a version running but struggled with compatability :( as expected. Would love to see this come back and to play it again!

The game was solid once you got it to run properly. The park building was super fun, and ability to experience it yourself was fun addition. Building coasters was bit clunky, but once you got it down, you could try it yourself in first person mode, which is super rewarding. Differently themed levels, especially the halloween level is great, and each level is more challenging than last. Great game, that i wish to play again, but I haven't had luck even with physical copy and VMs.

One of my favourite memories back in my childhood. Still got the disc, but never managed to run it on my newer computers. I would instantly buy it, if it released on GOG.

My first "strategy" game from my childhood, such nostalgia. Sim Theme Park World from 1999 was very fun to play and alongside Re-Volt was one of my first games on PC. GOG don't let them lose it forever!

I remember buying this game for Amiga CD32, and I still have a PC-version CD for it. Unfortunately while my CD still works, it won't succesfully install game on Windows 10/11, so I needs this badly. Best Theme Park for me, loved different locations worldwide, wage negotiations and 3D rides in my own park.

Theme Park World means a lot to me, one of my favourite games of my youth, up there with the RCT series and Theme Hospital. This classic deserves to be here for all to play!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
