This game was such a massive part of my childhood. My best friend and i spent countless hours defending or assaulting Minas Tirith or Helm's Deep. The campaigns were fun and interesting, with 10/10 voice acting. And that's not even starting on the custom maps and game modes. Even better renditions of classic movie locations, massive fortresses, scripted battles. Or my favourite, the tower defense modes that we theory crafted and spent so long trying to figure out which combination of factions were the best in order to win.matlef

When The Battle for Middle-earth II launched in 2006, it didn’t just expand on the original—it shattered all boundaries. For me, it remains the absolute pinnacle of fantasy RTS games. The shift to the untold stories of the Northern War felt like reading the unseen chapters of Tolkien’s lore, bringing Elves and Dwarves into the spotlight in the most magnificent way.The absolute freedom of the new free-form base building completely transformed how I played. I spent countless hours designing the ultimate, impenetrable fortresses, packing them with defensive towers, and custom-building my own legendary heroes to lead the charge. The visual leap was staggering; watching a summoned Dragon or the watery wrath of the Watcher in the Water tear through enemy lines was pure, unadulterated awe.BFME II was a masterpiece of tactical depth and cinematic scale. Bringing this timeless classic to GOG would finally restore a crucial piece of gaming history to its rightful throne.
it tried to be age of empires within LOTR realm. it suceeded. and than license ran out and no one seems interested in releasing it on the digital or re-release circuits. It is not the most original or polished game of this genre but it dose have marvelous sounds and beautiful artstyle, befitting Tölkien's works. it has some sense of hummour (do please play orken faction its my favourite one) and rather interesting "ace" card in form of the ring. i destincly recall accidentlay forcing empires of men to create alliance against me because i took a vital point and amassed forces. i was nowhere near quick enough to reinforce my forward possition so the bulk of their joint forces attacked... my one poor worker. it was hopless and i lost it every single time .) but i did try hard and build up some deffences within the battle (castle with trebuchet/ catapult / whatever you can fit ontop of towers) and some walls to protect farms. i still reckon i could have beaten it if i was smarter about it .) its more than worth same praise as the knockoff AoE star wars game has (i own Galactic Battlegrounds) at least and for games of this genre that can be bit diffcult to achieve due to excessive competition.
This was an exellent rendition of Lord of the Rings as RTS. It is also one of the only franchises that do Orcs correctly. This is another epic game I would buy if GOG brought it back. I'm also interested in that Anthology. Might as well have all of them, they are precious to me.
As a kid I played the first version of the game, it was amazing, I still have the original version of the game today, I think it was the game I played the most in my life, I had all my friends who at the time we got together every weekend to play, they were the best moments of my life, and I would like to play the second version of the game, to today create moments with my children with a good strategy game.
Какого хрена я нигде не могу найти игру The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth 2: The Rise of the Witch-king. Почему этой игры вообще нигде нет? Что за херня? Ни на какой платформе просто не могу найти эту игру. Такое ощущение, такое ощущение, как будто все разом договорились не продавать ее на маркетплейсах
i Never played it, and want to get a chance to do so. I love lotr world watched and read all movies and books.

This was my first LAN co-op game with my best friend. We were only 14 years old at the time. Back then, in my country, fast internet wasn't widely available, and I was still using an old PC while my friend played on my mom's laptop. We didn't need fancy setups or high-speed internet—we just connected our computers and spent hours playing The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II together. Those battles, the laughter, and the memories we made are still some of my favorite gaming memories to this day. ❤️ It's amazing how a game can bring back so many memories from childhood. This game will always have a special place in my heart.

This is my favorite game of all time. I played it on the Xbox 360. I love the campaign, how you can build anywhere, how resources are gathered, designing a base with walls, the factions, the heroes, and a TON more. I really hope this comes to GOG!
Those games also need your vote!

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
