I've always been kind of mixed on the PSP games. They're fun games but I never liked the new control style. I don't know if it's because they felt it wouldn't really work with the old style controls with only one set of shoulder buttons so you can't strafe, or if it's because people don't like tank controls period despite them never being bad at all. There's also the story which you can tell that the writer of the series was running out of ideas for the games, and also how to evolve the game. It felt it was almost taking a page out of splinter cell with the new super dart rifle (which is a reused asset) that you have with you always and Gabe carrying 3 whole sets of goggles on him. My nitpicks aside the game is fun to play, with hidden secrets for you to find and help piece the story together even more, additional challenges like stealth only, darts only, etc. for each mission, and the ratings systems coming back, now tied to those challenges rather than a specific kill grind. The multiplayer also gets an upgrade with online multiplayer for the returning deathmatch mode, but I never got to try it as a kid since I never had internet and I had the PS2 version. Despite my personal nitpicks I still enjoyed and played the hell out of the game, I just hope they go ahead and use the PS2 version rather than the PSP. Despite it being censored on PS2 (RIP Taser) it actually has dual analog support which makes it much more enjoyable to play and not have some strange jittery mess like the PS4/5 rereleases did by mapping the 4 directions to the face buttons that you used to aim.
