Was very surprised to see a trailer for this and for it to come out on steam the other day. I own Super Bomberman 2 for SNES and have played it countless times in the past. It had a somewhat fun single player but it also had an amazing multiplayer which you could play by yourself or up to 3 other friends if you had the specific dongle that added 4 controllers to one port. The great thing was it has computer controlled players so playing by yourself was always an option.
The levels are colorful and unique, the bosses were interesting and challenging at times. There was also the music! Right when the trailer started and heard that recognizable song I instantly knew where it was from. That song is recognizable like the old Tetris theme. I have literately hummed that theme at times in the past (probably from playing the game so much).
I never got or played the other bomberman games for SNES cause the others didn't really interest me all that much and plus very hard to track down old SNES games.
So this collection looks like a great time. I am tempted to get it on Steam because I get mostly multiplayer games on there and would like to play it with friends but if it comes to GOG I would probably get it cause of how fun the second game on it's own is and hope it supports cross store play. But from many other games I have seen in the past (like golf with your friends) that is not the case thus I would be a bit weary and make sure you research before getting it here if it ever releases here.
Konami hasn't really released many games on GOG in the past, last time being around 2020 with some very old games. I guess we shall see, maybe in a year any agreements they had with steam might be done with and they can release it here maybe? Who knows.
Also these games give me some hope we might get the N64 bomberman games release on PC eventually which I would REALLY like, the first 2 are amazing single player games. Multiplayer not as good but still fun.
