Moviehouse - The Film Studio Tycoon

This game appears to be fun and has nice sound effects. At first you will be a struggling little company really fighting for getting in the greens. You can grow as a company but everything is just scaling. You have limited options, can't often even correct misclicks and at some point just overgrow the system. Buying the rest of the market companies wasn't even possible for me because of a bug. If you want to spend time in a similar game like "The Movies", this is not the right game for you. Despite, you might have fun for like 3 hours when you are a film fan. There are many references in the poster templates. But don't expect more. I at least hope this game will get patches. Maybe it should have come a little bit later.

I bought this game and I am looking forward to enjoy that as other tycoons do. But after 20+ hours of gameplay I have to say that I didn't enjoy it at all. The graphics looks like the colouring book, you have to wait all the time when the graphic show you likable animation and beep sound to press continue. You can turn on the tutorial helper, but it will not help with the game mechanics or something more complicated like settings about props. Most of my tries I leave just because I fall down to the same "rabbit hole" with money, and production the movie. I don't know who is the target group for this game. I can't recommend this game for anybody who wants to play a game.

I was hoping for The Movies, but this is just a lazy game with little interaction. I see what they were going for, but it's just not good.

This title is quite basic. If you remember Maxis' The Movies, this one is a more basic and streamlined version of that. Instead of micromanaging every aspect of every performer, set piece, and production element, this game focuses on bigger picture of writing, producing, and distributing films. As you and your crews get more experienced, the game becomes easier and easier. However, it does become a bit of a grind too. There is little to no documentation and the tutorial is only minorly helpful for anything other than basic navigation. The trick seems to be to not try to go too big too soon and to always operate within your means... don't go into debt if you don't have to, and remember that even a little profit is better than any loss.
