Flawed on GoG - Buyer Beware

As the tiny text at the bottom of the version description (which I swear was added after I already paid for the Gold Edition months ago) states: "PLAION’s Player Account system Prism Ray Online Services (“PROS”) is not implemented in the GOG version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. As such, any bonus content that relies on PROS to unlock will not be available in the GOG version." Bad enough the Brunswick Armor DLC doesn't come with the Gold Edition, but cannot get the PROS content because... no idea actually. I asked PROS, they had no answer but hoped it would change at some point. So minus 1 star for an otherwise highly enjoyable game spoiled by poor business practices. Do I regret buying the game on GoG? No. It is still a GREAT game. But I hate that developers and digital platforms are locking content away from consumers and not being upfront about it. It is exploiting customers trying to do the right thing. I wanted to support GoG, so I waited long after KCD2 was released on other platforms so I could purchase the game on GoG for the full price. Sadly, because they didn't lead with a simple, 'some content is unavailable on our version', I paid full price for less than the full contents worth. And I don't like feeling duped. Would I do it again knowing what I know now? No. I'd buy it on Steam, so I didn't get locked out of content I actually would have enjoyed having. Warhorse and GoG (CDPR) really need to take a look at themselves here and stop ripping off people trying to support their businesses.

From Sunrise to Epic Battles!!!

From the moment I started playing, this sequel had me hooked and never let go, a rare feeling for anyone who usually quits games halfway through. The story is engaging and well‑paced, building on the first game’s lore while constantly raising the stakes. Visually the world is a big step up: vibrant, detailed environments look gorgeous, even if the sunrise isn’t quite as perfect as in the original and some clouds feel a little off. Combat is challenging but fair; you have to learn new tactics and master the revamped skill tree, which makes every fight feel rewarding. The GOG release is a huge plus no DRM, smooth installation and flawless performance. All in all, Kingdom Comes: Deliverance 2 delivers an excellent narrative, beautiful graphics, deep combat and a polished experience, earning my full five‑star rating.

Viel Licht und viel Schatten

Für mich persönlich ist das nicht das Spiel auf das ich gewartet habe/hätte. Ich war schon beim ersten Teil recht gespalten, besonders was so manche Entscheidung der Entwickler anging, ob Hunde im Kampf, generell das Kampfsystem oder die Mini-Games. Das ist nicht besser geworden. Die Grafik ist ok, man Feintuning betrieben, aber es ist nichts Außergewöhnliches. Was aber sehr beeindruckt ist die Detailverliebtheit der Entwickler, ob es Mäuse sind, die über den Weg huschen, Katzen, die auf Dächern sitzen oder viele kleine Gegenstände, die irgendwo rumliegen. Das Kampfsystem ist nach wie vor "eigenartig". Es gibt weniger Trefferzonen und man ist mehr Mauszentriert als im ersten Teil, aber irgendwie schlägt es nicht durch. Man hängt öfter in endlosen Schleifen von Angriff und Block fest, das Wechseln von Trefferzonen ist auch manchmal recht hakelig. Was wie im ersten Teil ist: Die Unvorhersagbarkeit. Mal haut man drei bis an die Zähne bewaffenete Banditen in Sekunden um und mal kriegt man von zwei Landstreichern einen eingeschenkt (selbe Ausrüstung, selber Char) Truhen lassen sich immer noch nicht mit Axt oder (Kriegs-)Hammer öffnen und das scheuende Pferd hängt wie üblich an einem Banditen in der ganzen Truppe. Hau den um und du kannst frei reiten. Die Anzahl der Mini-Games noch auszuweiten ist auch nicht so toll. Spätestens nach dem zweiten Hufeisen oder Retterschnapps wirds langweilig und man sehnt sich nach Skyrim zurück (Zutaten wählen, Enter drücken und gut) Was mittlerweile auch nervt, warum muss das Spiel sich oft wie ein Softporno anfühlen? Jeder zweite Dialog mit einer Frau kann entsprechend enden, wirkt irgendwie, als hätte da jemand seine Teenagerträume ausgelebt. Was Bugs angeht, manchmal verschwinden Dialogoptionen, dann hilft nur ein Neustart des letzten Savegames, ansonsten kein Vergleich zum ersten Teil. Unterm Strich: Gute Ansätze, aber die Umsetzung ist teils hakelig. Gerade bei den Minigames wäre es schön sie überspringen zu können.

I take back what I said

I think my last high praise review to this was lost, but just came to say that after hours upon hours of gameplay, I've changed my mind. You WILL run into game breaking bugs. For a AAA game sold at such a premium, especially for gold edition, this is a slap in the face. Combine the game breaking bugs with their save system and you have a recipe for disaster and frustration. I kept lying to myself that it's not so bad, but it really is. People have a finite amount of time for play, so how would that make them feel to play for hours on end or even just complete a few quests in an hour, just for the quest to break, rendering all that effort wasted. Not to mention not running perfectly like butter on pc specs greater than their recommendations. Cryengine blows, and they should've waited at least another year. WAIT FOR A SALE! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T BE ME :(
