It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Steam has an official app for Android, (don't have iPhone now, but it should have the app as well.) The app lets people check out promotions, forums and stuff without having to use a browser. It's quite useful.

GOG should have one too.

Or, you know, just use Safari. I'm on the GOG forums right now with my iPad and it's totally fine. It's not like Steam where the community feature is so messy and separate from the store and the forum that they need an app to tie them all together.

Gog is less mobile friendly since the last refresh. The top menu bar is fixed left-justified which is a problem when zooming. Also, an app would be great exposure in the booming marketplace that is the App Store. Who wouldn't want a piece of that?

I've gotten used to the menu bar now (even if it's a completely useless thing in terms of web usability and you should be ashamed of yourselves, GOG) but I just don't see the point in a GOG app or why they should even bother making one. Usually site apps are just wrappers with a browser tab inside it.
Im always happy when there is less stuff going to that shitty crappy ios and android and mobile platforms in general :).
No thanks.:)
Or, you know, they could just make sure the site accounts for the lower resolution when viewed on a mobile device. An easier solution than building a native application for each system.

I'd ask you to vote for GOG mobile stylesheet.

I would love an app for smartphone.

Exactly.

There's no point making an app for anything unless you have a lot of specialty features that you just can't do with a web browser. They just need to do another pass on the mobile site and improve it.

Don't expect a reply from that guy. He vanished from the forums years ago. Who knows what he is doing with GOG now.

No that would require turning the website interface to be more tablet oriented, ruining it for us Desktop/Laptop users.

The current interface update tried to balance both Tablet/Desktop friendlyness.

Don't turn GOG into PC Gamer's interface. (Or any website thats has a clear tablet bias)

Wow I didn't even notice the necro. :D I guess I obviously still don't like the mobile version of the site too much.
Hello, anyone here help me pls. I currently online on my ipad, and i want to download my bonus contents from the witcher 3 i already purchased (such as soundtrack, wallpaper, avatar, maps ..v...v..) to my ipad, but safari cannot download anything of its. I tried to use chrome, but it useless too. Is there any idea to do this. Ty
Necro aside, I wish for GOG to have an app on Android for basically nearly everything, including chat with push notifications. Not to mention that having an app helps in GOG's exposure.

As for what interface is the best for tablet, smartphone and PC users, behold Android Police. This site uses some sort of trick that turns the website into a near mobile interface if the viewing area is small in resolution and desktop if its sufficient in resolution. Try it on your PC by resizing the Android Police webpage.

Why not download it to your computer first then?

Ideally yes, but they can't even get a simple Windows app (Galaxy) to work. I would be horrified at their attempts at expanding to mobile.

Hmm, you're probably right. GOG Galaxy sometimes loves to crash and pausing does nearly nothing in actually stopping the bandwidth from being sucked. Though I'll leave it up to them that its a beta program and we shouldn't jump to conclusions yet. Its better that they fix up Galaxy before they do anything indeed.
The Steam app is a bit pointless to be frank, unless you use it to converse with friends that you don't have on any other platform except Steam and can't wait to buy something until you get home (in which case the Steam mobile site does a better job anyway).

If there was to be a GOG app, it would at least have to offer DRM-free Android .apk versions of the listed games here that have them (e.g. Baldur's Gate EE).
