Use Galaxy to replace shut down lobby servers

F4LL0UT Let the Galaxy client also serve as a lobby for games where the official servers have been shut down or generally wherever the developers provide the necessary functionality. Basically what GameRanger does. Provide lists with sessions and the amounts of players online. Provide a way to mark favourites so players may be specifically reminded when a session is opened for one of their favourite games, allow automatic syncing with the list of games owned/installed.
F1ashy I wish this had more upvotes. It'll be an amazing feature to simply load up a game and start playing with people because GOG are running the servers. A gamer can dream...
TheGoldenGecko This is a splendid idea that I don't see why it's not been executed yesterday. Going by the oldest comment here, it's been 2 years and a half since this was posted.
Granted, it's not got a lot of votes, if only because folk will almost exclusively look up a game in the community wishlist. But can you imagine a single user here that wouldn't want this? If anything, some might be indifferent. But I'd say a very big chunk would welcome this functionality. It would certainly attract a helluva lot more users to Galaxy, myself included.
Not needing to actually set up and maintain servers but simply provide a lobby of user-hosted servers for any given multiplayer game available on gog, what're the cons to that?
The only part that I can see not being a gain in this equation is the required investment of time and effort to code this in. That obvious cost aside, it's a full-on win-win royale.

jorlin That would be a good feature of Galaxy, though I think this should be completed with a downloadable game server whenever they are available, so that you can also run the server on a LAN/ private network.

Thanks F4LL0UT, I thought about this a lot, but I didn't know how to express completely my idea on English. I completely support this, I think that replacing games servers that has been shut downed wouldn't be a real problem for Galaxy servers (due to the small community seeking to play them online, they could have a servers for many old games).
Te problem is... what would happen with those who don't want to use Galaxy but still want to acces to those GOG servers?
I don't really care since I'm gonna be a galaxy user, but I do care for those who refure to have a client on their computer.
