While many of my first PC game purchases were from steam, I can say that GOG will be were the rest of my purchases will be. From being helpful to humorous, the GOG team continues to amaze me with the principles they employ in their services, simply because it really is unparalleled in the market they compete in. I've been enjoying the some of the content that they've generously given to me as a new user, as well as some promotional games. Honestly, someone would have to make an effort to not appreciate everything that the GOG team has made possible.

Just want to say, until their latest store update, I used to buy my games exclusively from Steam. I won't detail the changes but they were bad enough for me to explore different shopping options which led me to GOG. WOW! Not only did I find titles not available on Steam (NWN series, Icewind Dale & much more) but the games here are DRM free & I can freely browse the store without some stupid algorithm telling me what STEAM thinks I should buy. Add in your refund policy & suddenly I feel like I'm shopping in a customer friendly "mom&pop" style store that emphasizes customer satisfaction over corporate profits. I DRANK GOG's KOOL-AID & LOVE YOUR FLAVOR!

Great work guys. I have dozens of boxed games from the start when Simcity, Elite and Co were sold on 5.25 and 3.5 diskettes. Sure I can (eventually) still get most of these great old pc games to work in DosBox, SCUMM etc but buying your versions takes away all the hassle of the set-up and config (not least remembering where I put the disks) and lets me just dive in and enjoy the ride whenever I feel the need. Love the fact you're also now selling newer games (just bought AoW III). Keep up the good work and if you're ever interested in expanding the website with some facts and figures and a bit of history about the developers, publishers etc - I'd sure love the chance to contribute what I know :)

GOG is amazing, I find myself buying stuff just to support them. They realize if you treat your customers fairly, your customers will reward you ,with not only cash, but a fierce loyalty. I'd imagine having a devoted and loyal community makes them feel very proud, they're a great bunch of lads and ladies and they truly deserve your money. .more than most!!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate having discovered GOG.

I was getting increasingly disillusioned with the way in which the gaming industry was moving, and could foresee a time in the future that I would no longer be playing games because of that. The assumptions of mainstream gaming companies that if you legally bought their products, that you were just as likely a criminal as if you didn't.

With the heavy restrictions placed on legal owners of games. The DRM that compromised your computer, the limited activations, the need to be connected to their servers all the time, the regional limitations and unfair regional pricing became more and more entrenched.

Add to that the exclusivity of platforms releases and the heavy-handed push to drive customers towards consoles (which for some bizarre reason are substantially more expensive than a desktop releases. Square Enix, good luck with trying to push me to buy a xbone to play the new Tomb Raider. Not going to happen!)

All conspired to drive me away from a pastime that I had loved since the 90's.

It was with great happiness that I found GOG, people who obviously loved games as much as me, yet realised that the majority of gamers are willing to pay a fair price for a fair product. That realised that their customers, are not as a general rule, going to steal from them and have no need to treat them like criminals.

It's been something of a revelation that there is hope for fair and equitable treatment of customers, in the increasingly draconian business world of gaming. As long as you folks stick to your principles, you can be assured of my continued patronage.

GOG and CD Projekt Red, THANK YOU so much!

You guys Rock! :)

I can't praise you guys enough for all your work. At a time when it feels as though the online world is getting screwed down tighter and tighter, controlling how we use our media, GOG just seems to get it right. You seem to understand how owning what you have paid for still matters to the end user. Everything from your DRM-free values, your pricing, sales, catalogue; it gives me faith that the fight for consumer power and choice is not yet lost. Keep doing what you're doing: stick to your ethos and keep being awesome. I wish you every success!!

Thanks a million GoG! When it comes down to it, GOG.com is really the only way to go for PC games. Steam or Origin is ok occasionally, but they're also DRM-laden platforms resembling spyware. No one should have to endure either just to play a video game.

So again, THANK YOU GOG! =)

Thanks GOG. I've found my childhood only so many times now that I joined this site.

I was born in the mid '80s and I played the hell out of many games I didn't even remember they existed until I randomly found this site. My computer now does not even know what a "current gen" game is because it only plays classics.

With this said, you've got a true fan here. Keep it up!

I've written fan mail to the GOG folks a couple of times. Somehow it never occurred to me to post such here in the forums (of which I am largely oblivious for some reason).

I love GOG. We have a company here that understands gamers, or so I must surmise. It's either that or they just got really lucky.

I really appreciate being able to browse through a vast selection of classic games online, many games that likely otherwise, would be impossible to acquire. The way GOG has built their presentation is 'exactly' what I want to be able to see and read about a game prior to making a purchase.

I frequently wind up buying from GOG, games that I already own having purchased them 20 years back, because GOG has gone the extra mile of doing the work to ensure that those games work on modern systems, and that alone justifies paying the extremely reasonable price GOG charges.

I also much appreciate that GOG has frequently done yet more work to assemble in one spot information as to the best mods and extras created by the gamer community for that game. This extra has on several occasions spared me from having to spend a day tracking down the same information myself.

Okay, sorry, that was a little direct. Heheh... (better, compose yourself now, Lewk, you don't want to blow it!) What I meant to say was that I think you're very special, and you make me smile every time I see you, GOG (nice!). *cutely kicks some dirt around and smiles*

So I was thinking... It would be wonderful if you wanted to maybe hang out later this evening and play a few games? (ooohh man, here come the butterflies!) We could play some Neverwinter Nights, and I'll totally try not to be distracted by your beautiful huge boobs (AAAGHH! Did I just say boobs?)... FACE!!! I meant to say face! (oh boy, turn it around now, Lewk). Your beautiful face that I just want to lick all over like a drooly Saint Bernard who hasn't seen his master in a week!

*shocked look*

I love GOG and am very grateful for its existence. DRM-free games are the best. I have purchased 205 games on GOG (some on sale, some for full price) and my only regret is I am running out of games to buy (ones I want, anyway). More RPGs! More FPS. Where is No One Lives Forever 1 and 2? I'll pay plenty for those two gems.

Once in a while I see a GOG miss step followed by an open channel of discussion. The rest of the time you make decisions that are excellent!

Basically, I only think of GOG when I need to buy something or think about digital purchases, meaning there is nothing but smooth transactions with you guys and good news when you show up in my feed.

PS - Again thank you for the notification about the game removals, can you please get Marvel VS Capcom 3? A lot of us were surprised to see that removed from Steam ;)

Honestly just learned about this site three days ago, and I love it. As someone who rarely ever plays new games, this has a lot of older ones I want to check out, often at a spectacular price, with spectacular extras, and of course, DRM-free.

I'm even more impressed by the time they take to get older games to work on newer systems...some of them are a pain to get running. Much respect.
