Strike a deal w/ ZeniMax Media Inc. completed
lots of idSoftware classic from 90s not available on GOG or in any other platform store..
Commander Keen still?
They took their time, but better late than never! Much better! Well played folks.
It DID happen!! Good job GOG.com. Now you can put the "completed" status on this wish!
We will see if it happens this week.
yeah Zenimax ruined ID software already
Yes, please! TES! TES! TES!
Bring Fallout series back!
Hell. Yes.
Not going to happen as long as 1C owns full and complete distribution rights in Russia. Then we wind up in a multiple rights situation that requires either a new system to handle payments based on region, or region locking.
I'd like game companies to understand, that we need old titles on GOG. to avoid people from giving up and stealing them. Plus people should have the right to experience the classics that should never die. Gog is doing justice to games. I want to legally own these, and run them on modern hardware
I wouldnt demand anything else from gog if they ever made a deal with Zenimax...
Now that Disney/LucasArts has seen the light, ZeniMax is the obvious next target. Get the Bethesda and Id Software catalogue in there! :)
I definitely want to see this happen, DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstien were all great games, and I would love to be able to buy them on GOG.
Absolutely! :) I can attest - from experience - that Quake II and Quake III Arena run great on Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64. On Quake III, just make sure to remove your existing configuration file if the game always hangs on load. It will then regenerate the config file, and play perfectly. :)
Zenimax will be a great addition, no doubt.
But you may rejoice in reading that Arena and Daggerfall can be downloaded for free from their official websites: www.elderscrolls.com/arena/
and www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/
Weren't there some olde games released, like DANGEROUS DAVE?
Wasn't that by id?
I just wish that I could get Skyrim here on GOG.com without any Steam, what I mean is that even if I buy Skyrim in a store on a DVD I still have to activate it there, if I wanted it on Steam I would have bought it there.
This definitely is needed. Daggerfall, above and beyond the others, but the more the better!
Aint gonna happen any time soon. Bethesda sure loves ther DRM and unfair regional pricing & restrictions.
So I've recently made the jump from consoles to PC but a came to the unpleasant surprise of DRM and the BS that steam really is. GOG is awesome and I will buy Fallout 3 and New Vegas again if they are release here, DRM-Free.
Let's see if it can happen.
@scooney
I contacted Bethesda sometime in 1998 and got a message back stating they were unable to sell the Terminator games because the license lease period had expired. I too would love to see those games on GoG but it doesn't seem likely to happen.
Yes, yes, partner up with ZeniMax, bring those Classics to GOG!!!
More chance of Sir-Tech being reformed to make Wizardry 9.
Fallout 3, even though the Steam version is technically DRM-free since you can just run fallout3.exe standalone. :P
You guys are also forgetting the Terminator games, Future Shock and SkyNet, which were really ground-breaking at the time (mid-90s). It's a shame that many gamers today have no idea these games even existed.
The full CD version of Arena needs to here. Also Daggerfall, Battlespire, Redguard, Doom, Heretic and Hexen.
Morrowind Complete and Oblivion Complete would most likely be huge sellers too.
This is a must!!
Umm... Dude, I don't know how to tell you this, but... Arx Fatalis IS on GOG
(Arkane belongs to ZeniMax too, if it wasn't clear.)
Oh, and Prey could become a GOG game with a ZeniMax deal too, since Beth bought the rights to it.
While Beth and Id games are cool, people shouldn't forget about Arkane Studios too! Arx Fatalis is a good old game, and it should be on GOG.
A good idea, if it can be done. Here's hoping!
Even though it's already on Steam, I would love to get this game for my bro and I so we don't have to be linked to cloud data all the time! Plus offline mode for Steam, is not fun, especially if the Steam shell glitches.
Man this would be awesome! GOG you know this is a must!!!!
Teaming up with the company that owns Bethesda and Id - is a no brainer.
Would LOVE to have a nice and easy to run version of Skynet (never really had it run stably on dosbox). Unfortunately it seems that ZeniMax have their tongue down Valve's throat.
Too bad BethSoft's Terminator games probably had the licenses dry up. I have fond memories of those.
The free version of Arena is the floppy disk version. It's missing content that is on the CD version. It would be nice to the CD version of Arena and Daggerfall here. Perhaps get Battlespire working, and sell it here also. These are games that would fix perfectly here.
They hold the keys to Commander Keen. A "Complete Commander Keen" (and yes, that includes Keen Dreams) release would be absolutely, massively epic. Combine that with the Elder Scrolls games, Wolfenstein 3D, DOOM, Quake III, and the latter Fallout games (like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas) and you've got a recipe for something that would make our gaming lives that much better.
Maybe an exclusivity-deal with Steam?
Please sort out a hookup with Zenimax - they own half my childhood IP's
Because Arena And Daggerfall are freeware now I believe. Would still be awesome to have them on here though, saves messing around with DOSBOX.
Is there any reason as to why Bethesda's DOS catalog isn't here already?
