Including a high-resolutionfix in the game or telling you how to download and install one when clicking the game in your shelf.

Voted.
But, GOG, please be sure to make it optional if the changing the resolution is more complex than just editing an ini-file. :)
If changes are optional everyone should be happy.

Absolutely NO. The games should (as much as possible) be in their original state. Fan made "patches" can be very useful but sometimes they break functionality or include original content. They should always be optional and belongs in the community section, not with the official files. The community section however, can be made more addon\mod friendly with the possibility for viewing patches\mods\maps\etc and voting for them

Also, not everyone want a higher resolution for all games. Many of the old 2D games are less immersive for me when the old sprites and backgrounds become really tiny, like they often do when given a much higher resolution than the intended one. This is especially true for small monitors with high resolution like laptops.

@hec359720: This is about fixes and patches and NOT mods. Fixes and patches only overcome technical limitations and obvious bugs and don't change the gaming experience as it was intended by the devs (like mods do).

There's stickies on the forums suggesting mods and unofficial fixes, that's enough. Some people want to play the game as it is.

fallout 1 and 2 should automatically contain the the unofficial patches and res hack for proper win 7 support. check out "NMA" I'm pretty sure the authors would okay gog.com to included their patches.
