fridgeband I vote NO. I don't like censorship. YES there are some really rude posts out there, but I just ignore those. I rather read a very rude post from trolls every once in a while but be able to have the freedom to say whatever I want. This is much better than having to constantly fear that EVERY SINGLE POST I MAKE will get taken down by a power tripping bad-admin-mod that just wants to get me in trouble for no reason ALL THE TIME. There are good moderators out there, but nobody notices them, the problem is that the bad ones power trip to the point that it's IMPOSSIBLE to have a simple conversation without them rudely intervening and changing things that nobody asked for, and don't even get me started on trolls who drive people crazy and then report them to abuse the report system so that the trolling victim gets banned. I have seen that happen to way too many people on other websites I wont mention from a very long time ago. And of course, the trolls never get banned in those cases. The bad-mods in those cases always let them get away, and only the good users ever get in trouble. Again I do acknowledge that there are good moderators out there, but all it takes is a single bad moderator to turn a fairly nice place with freedom of speech into a censorship-nightmare that never ends. PLEASE NO. The trolls will always troll, they always find a way. I rather read rude posts sometimes and just ignore them rather than dealing with a bad moderator who will BE that very troll the users must deal with every day. As soon as there is a bad power tripping moderator, then it's not even worth posting anything anymore. The whole forum becomes a ghost town, and then the website gets all dusty and quiet. It's a great way to drive everyone away. Then the moderator is left sitting there like "LOL mY jOb HeRe Is DoNe"
RaggieRags I think the maturity level of the comments in here are proof enough the forums need better moderation. It's sad to see how low this community has fallen. This used to be a great, friendly place.

Magmarock I'd like to add that I think the Escapist do a rather good job of moderation. They have a warning system that works quite well at letting people know when they've gone too far

Klumpen0815 I'd rather remove the rep system and exchange the whole board software for something with search function and sorting threads by the date of creation or last active post. Mods are usually trolls themselves at some point.
Immoli As a feminist, it Offends™ me when people say MEAN words like call me a man-hater or even worse, post misogynistic stats like rape statistics showing a decline in rape. These shitlords actually don't think we live in a rape culture! That goes against my religion and goes against the first amendment (the right to censor people who disagree with your religion). GOG could get into a lot of trouble for breaking the first amendment and not censoring users!

Lifthrasil I also would like to anti-vote. The GOG community is very friendly as it is and the relaxed, hardly any moderation, approach is very charming IMO.
