Make tarballs for Linux community.

Linux gaming community can manage support for various Linux Distributions(or Distros for short) themselves. Installing and maintaining packages from tarball is most universal way. It will be kind of you to provide tarballs with build and dependency notes for unsupported distros. For example, most of developers who selling games on Humble Bundle provide both packages and tarball.
That will make running and maintaining software on other Linux Distros much easier, instead of leaving users of unsupported Linux Distros to disassemble packages made for specific Linux Distribution. Such situation cause plenty of problems from finding program dependencies to making buggy temporary fixes, like emulation specific functions of custom distribution.

Yes please, tar.gz is a much better way to do it. I am trying to run games on Arch Linux . I realise that it is not officially supported but with a list of dependencies it would be possible.

You can extract the new installers without running them by just using unzip. That's good enough for me. Not voted.

Please give us back tarballs. They are simple to use and reliable. You can extract them without any other dependences than archive extractor utility and tar.

Yes please. Stop that installer nonsense! If I want stuff to work like in windows, I use windows. In linux we don't need that at all. A simple tar -xzvf gog_goodoldgame.tar.gz and I'm ready to play :D that actually easier than going chmod a+x gog_someindiegame.sh and ./gog_someindiegame.
It's even one command more! :P

Yes, please provide a tarball for us. Most of the user from other mainstream distributions are usually capable of certain level of debugging. I believe you can benefit as well in doing this besides winning more supporter.
Of course, making the client open source as long as that's possible and secure would be even a better idea.
