You could also add a feature to download owned game soundtracks to the mobile device.

Agreed. Something similar to the Steam app to allow us to buy via our mobile device would be great.

+1 I created a topic requesting the same thing here: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/iosandroidwp_companion_client

Also, Windows Phone. I buy games on the go and a WP app + desktop client is the only thing that will make me consider GOG first instead of Steam.

* Store access (some of us are not always near a computer so buying games on the run is a must)
* Access to personal profile/wishlist and the posibility to edit
* Community support
* Other features that will be available in GOG Galaxy and that can be ported (friends chat etc.)

GOG Galaxy is on it's way so this would be a nice companion app

This is needed! Even a more mobile friendly web page would suffice. But a mobile based platform to purchase games though would be ideal!

It would be nice if there was a godd old games for iOS featuring iOS games that were taken off the App Store like all of Freeverse's games and MotionX Dice

it would be nice to have a gog app for smart phones, for news, browsing games catalogue and buying. another alternative would be to make the site responsive.

It's nice and all that half of the commenters want to buy games for their android devices and like to use dosbox, but it has very little to do with this suggestion. We can already browse the store and buy PC games (and android games, if they had any) on our phones, the point is it's cumbersome.

Personally I'd rather see native apps with fewer features and great UI than a slow mobile web app.

I bought my first game on GOG while away from home. My intention was to play it via DOS Box on my tablet. I figure "DRM-free? that's great, so I just download a zip with the files on it and extract to a folder, right?" Well, I know now that I need to be at a windows PC to run an installer. (A windows based installer for a classic DOS game) From there on, www.muchshoe.com just a simple file transfer. It would be nice to be able to skip the installer and extract the files on my Android.

Instead of an app, a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for mobile browsers would be much more useful. This way all development and support efforts for different platforms (W8, iOS, Android, Blackberry...) would be reduced to (based on) 1 source code.

I would appreciate being able to download games to my Android device; I have an emulator app, but I'm short a computer these days.

I'd love to see a GOG App Store that sells Android games for phones, tablets, and the new crop of microconsoles like Ouya, GameStick, NVidia Shield, and MOJO.

While using something like Dosbox Turbo to bring some of the old DOS games to these platforms would be an obvious draw, it's often not possible to buy DRM free games on these Android platforms.

I need this. I'm on my Galaxy S4 right now. You could also add downloadable Android or ios game apps. I know for a fact that there is currently a scummvm app in the Google play app store albeit without much game support. And there are HD re-releases of various, fairly good, old games; which is what you guys are all about right? You could have a whole new 'good old game: app' section, and be a sort-of reseller of these apps so you can discount them at your discretion, as well as hire some developer(s) to port classics (point n' clicks especially) over to android and ios devices. I could see it being profitable as well as bringing more interest to the main site- potentially much more than any advertising campaign... good for thought.

Like Steam's App. I can search the store and my games list, etc. It would be a great way to have information on new games.

Even if you couldn't purchase games from the app, I still think it would be a great addition. Android!

This would be a great idea. It would be great if the Android version included the PC one and viceversa, but I wouldn't mind buying a few select Android versions were that not to be the case.

It would be awesome, if GOG.com could make some deal with the creators of DOSBOX and DOSBOX Turbo on Android in order to sell the GOG.com directly to the Android devices through some dedicated app. The Dosbox turbo works perfectly well and it handles even games like Dungeon Keeper or Tiberium Dawn. Please, guys, could you join forces with Dosbox (Turbo)?

This is something really important for people like me who have close to no free time to go to a computer during the weekdays, which ends up limiting a lot my ability to irresponsibly spend my hard earned money. I end up buying a lot of steam games on my steam android app. Please do the same, gog! Using the website interface on my terrible 3G connection is just too bothersome and time consuming for me to care.

For Android users, there already exists an awesome DosBox app called "DosBox Turbo". Plays GOG games beautifully, and has an integrated bookshelf manager that kind of looks like the GOG manager.

@mathew.beale: But GOG didn't make DOSbox, they just use it in their releases. All GOG really do is use compatibility programs made by other people, then buy the license to distribute the games from the publisher. And to everyone else that seems to be taking this the wrong way: the description says nothing about the app playing games on your phone.

Yep, this would be a great thing. Or at least make a mobile version of the site; it's really awkward and glitchy to view and navigate on an iPhone.

Definitely need an app to play some of the old classics on Android - it must be possible to build an engine that will run old DOS games on android - I know there are existing DOSBOX apps, but those are poorly implemented - surely GoG could do better and make a killing!

I can get behind the Android idea 100%, but doesn't Apple still insist that the only way you can install stuff on iOS is through the app store? I'm not sure that targeting the "jailbroken" market is very... prudent, especially nowadays when Apple seems to be doing it's best to redefine itself as a Lawsuit-company that happens to make trendy gadgetry...

Playing old DOS games on an iOS or Android device would definitely be possible - even early Windows / Mac games. For example, the original Baldur's Gate is being ported to iOS and being released this summer. There is a DOS emulator that keeps getting posted and then pulled from the Apple App Store that includes DOS games (keeps getting pulled due to licensing issues).

Agreed, I realize playing games on a mobile device isn't going to be possible, but an app or at least a mobile device optimized version of the site would be nice.
