It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I have been downloading games on Linux using DownThemAll, an extension for Firefox, for years, and it works just fine.
@Petrell: Not neccessarily. A downloader is a whole lot simpler than having to test each and every game before giving their approval for release.
AIR is an abomination, both on Windows and other systems(like Linux, MacOSX). This wouldn't be necessary if the download would be resumable.
I'd like to choose my own downloader or to have access to one that works on my Linux system.
Wouldn't GOG have to add support for Linux first?
Ok GOG, you already had my respect, please give us some Linux support, Desura work fine in Linux, now Steam is also getting there (well, the beta is a bit rought, but is an advance). We only ask you for the downloader.... for now.... ;)
Did you try this?http://www.gog.com/forum/general/lgogdownloader_gogdownloader_for_linux/page1
Tried recently but with no success :(
I wonder whether and how well the current downloader would word under Wine -- I'll give it a try sometime. Has anyone already made the experiment ?
This would be a life saver. I have been trying to download gothic 3 but EVERY GODAMN TIME the computer will just...shut off. I love ubuntu and i love gog MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!
Mac downloader ir here... so... now?
Could be realized through metalinks: http://www.metalinker.org/
I had a bt / download server 24/7 setup, it would be nice to have a linux client with the new beta cloud feature to make it download the games from any browser...
Linux is complicated enough. How about we get something (this has probably been said, but I don't look at previous comments) that's just a one-install program that has access to all your GOG Games and downloads them.
Why not just write the official downloader in Qt and it'll work on all major platforms (after recompiling).
@DirtyCamper Update the downloader. I already updated it to work with the new account page.http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/simple_gogdownloader_written_in_c/page1
I wanted to say the same, except for s/python/perl/ :-). The adobe air required me to run some weird shit called gnome, else it wouldn't start at all. The cli downloader (gogdownloader) worked very well for me, but now something has changed, and the download doesn't work anymore. A perl version would make it easier to fix.
I think that the simplest way to solve this problem is to drop Adobe AIR, and just make a python script instead. Cross platform, no extra installation for anyone (Windows users can get a .exe file, Linux and OSX users have Python already installed), and good vibrations all around.
Just look at the script installer for Desura, Webmin, ++, so it should not be too difficult.
i will support the minimalistic command line, like the one that was made by one of the user (don't remember the name/forum page)
A minimalist command-line downloader is where my vote goes.
I guess it's a bit too much to ask for GTK-/QT-downloaders directly created and maintained by GOG but it would probably be great if there were an API/interface open for custom clients so that the availability of a downloader would depend your distros or standalone clients. I would imagine that this way it would even be possible to integrate GOG into the Ubuntu software center. This in turn would increase popularity of GOG on the linux platform.
Please consider creating a minimalist command-line downloader, and then adding GTK+/Qt/etc. frontends. It would probably suffice to use a simple shell script with the ability to log in, check, and download new patches with wget/curl/whatever.
I agree. And it wouldn't be probably too hard to produce. Problems would arise with it however. If you're a Gnome desktop user, to get optimal user experience, the Gog.com Gnu/Linux Download should use GTK+-libraries. However if you're KDE Desktop user, Gog.com Gnu/Linux Downloader should use QT-libraries. The Only large difference is that if Gog.com Downloader is using QT-libraries, the maintenance over two or three different platforms would be pretty straight forward since QT is properly supported on all major desktop operating systems (Windows, Mac OS X, Gnu/Linux). There are also several other architectural differences to be taken care of. :-)
also the older version in AIR (compatible with OSX) :)
