Do not bring back Nordic and Frictional games if it means even more regional pricing!
You people do realize, you are voting against the Spellforce games?
Why not have the flat one-world price, then add local tax according to region (VAT in the UK) at checkout? OK, it means I'll pay 20% extra but that's only because my government are robbing b'stards! :-) It has nothing to do with GOG's pricing structure and doesn't impact on the publishers profits which I beleive was the issue for both Frictional and Nordic with the introduction of local currency purchasing.
Regional pricing is unacceptable. The Internet is borderless. If publishers don't want to accept this, we don't need them on GOG.
Regional pricing is already here. GOG should allow it for every game, otherwise there will be other removals in the future.
We have to choose between DRM-Free and regional pricing, and clearly only the additional cost of regional pricing can be reduced during a sale (or with a fair price package).
Without regional pricing for classic games, which can be bought from other stores, you only harm GOG.
No regional pricing.
"For a few AAA titles a year, i guess fair regional pricing is okay,
but not for a whole publisher and all its titles." --nemesismartyn www.gog.com/forum/general/nordics_games_back_on_gog_with_the_fair_price_package_yay_or_nay_please_post_opinion/post19
Let GREED burn them down! Evil sharkfish assholes and their damn junk! My thanks to the kind fellow brethren lords who gifted them, to those who did not make it in time for their last buyout chance!
Allowing regionally pricing for Nordics's classic games would probably lead to regional pricing for the whole catalogue in a very short time.
Dont bring them back. They will feel, that their games are not sold that good without GOG and they will come back to you sometime
The games from Nordic games are all right up my alley, but if their return here means I have to pay up to 50% extra for the entire GOG catalog of classic games I'll pass (and probably buy a lot less games here than I have in the past).
What I would agree with is if they made special arrangements with Nordic and Frictional to only sell their games in dollars at a static price, just like it used to be... Would require some workarounds on the website to handle disparities between games that do allow regional currency and those that don't, but it could work.
I agree with mrkgnao. Allowing these two publishers to use regional pricing on older titles may encourage other publisher to do the same, which would lead to more and more regionally priced games on GOG.
What mrkgnao said.
I prefer a site that is fair (as in everyone pays the same price regardless of geography) and remains faithful to its core principles. I am willing to sacrifice publishers who prefer not to abide by these principles. I find regional pricing at least as abhorrent as DRM.
