Adding a classification to mark a game as "provided but unsupported" could assist with this wish.

For those who care about GOG Galaxy, this would add more game options for them (note I'm not one of them) at no cost and theoretically no support burden for GOG either (past Galaxy client integration).

I'd be willing to pay for GOG to take these games and update them with an easy install package plus goodies.

GOG should even go one step further, and be a active part in "liberation" and preservation of classic games via their source code, see this connected wishes:
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/travel_back_in_time_to_acquire_lost_source_codes
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/obtain_source_code_for_games_where_possible
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/add_feature_to_unglue_a_gamelanguagesource_code

Arx Fatalis is an good example, Open source (and therefore patched by http://arx-libertatis.org/ ) while commercially distributed here by GOG. A win-win situation for everyone (developer, gamers, GOG)! :c)
