Can't we have the entire trilogy? I would love to give the RTS series that inspired one of the most influential MMORPGs of all time (World of Warcraft, duh). It would be lovely to see some Activision+Blizzard games on GOG, since they have a phobia of Steam.

On the last BlizzCon, someone from Blizzard said that a colleague of theirs is thinking on the possibility of re-releasing these games. It can mean a HD version or something like that. Therefore I don't see any chance of these gems to be released on GoG. :(
Would be nice to see them on GoG by the way, especially the first game, since the second is released as a Battle.net edition in 1999 (or 98'?) which works on Windows XP properly and maybe on 7 as well, but Orcs & Humans is a DOS game only.

I'm a big fan of Warcraft I and II. Never tried multiplayer versions, but single player campaigns were great. If it would come in W1+W2 pack, I would consider buying it. +1

Warcraft 1 and 2 are NOT available for download from Blizzard. Neither is Diablo I. Only Warcraft III and Diablo II (and StarCraft I) are. Bnet support for Diablo I and the bnet edition of Warcraft II continues, however.

Warcraft 2 and Diablo 1 were totally hacked back in the day by cheaters. Uber-levelled ogres and uber-powered swords and armor. Made multiplayer practically impossible to find a non-gimped match. That's why they developed Battlenet-only games to cut down on cheating.

Blizzard Already has these games ready for digital download if you guys want it. If you already haven't done it create a battlenet acct and purchase it from them. It is pretty reasonable pricing

Those two games, along with Diablo 1 and 2, were the best games this company ever created, and at the same time, the best in their respective genres, too. After warcraft 3 sit started becoming ugly, underage and shitstormed... I simply long for the warcraft 1+2, and the diablo 1+2 era. Please GoG, bring those games. Blizzard became an abomination, like EA, especially after merging with Activision. I would buy their games from you ANYTIME, i am never again going to spend a single coin on Blizzard ever again...

Warcraft 1 might be released as a free download at Battle.Net, they did that with their old game Blackthorne recently. It's possible.

"Blizzard will only sell their games on Battle.net" Warcraft 2 is sadly not available in their shop. The only Blizzard Games you can buy on their homepage are WoW, Starcraft2 and Diablo3.

"warcraft 1 and 2 dont have cd keys, so its werry imposibel too enter them on battelnet" Indeed. Only the Warcraft 2 "Battle.net Edition has a CD-Key as far as I know.

Would be awesome to have a shop selling Warcraft 2 B.net Edition!

Game companies come and go. Good old games last forever. Blizzard is in a position now not unlike Sierra was back in the day. The mighty will fall soon enough and when that time comes we will get these babies playable DRM-free. It is only a matter of time.

I really doubt we'll ever see a Blizzard game sold on a different platform than Battle.net. I wouldn't mind Warcraft 1 and 2 being released in a proper and polished release which I can enjoy, without having constant crashes and errors which I currently do.

Someone from Blizzard has lately stated, that they're working to make Warcraft 1/2 playable on modern machines. I assume they'll sell them on their own digital store. I don't remember Blizzard games being sold digitally anywhere except Battle.net.

For those of you who had these games and still have the legitimate CD-key, you can go to the Blizzard website, log in to your bnet account and enter the CD-key and Blizzard will detect what product has that key and a digital installer of the most recent patched version will be added to your bnet account for download at no extra cost. This is great for people who like digital distribution or have lost their discs. I don't know if the older games would work on the new operating systems though.

Blizzard have said that alongside working on the new WoW expansion, they're also working on getting WC1 and 2 working well on modern operating systems. It sounds like it'll be a freebie, or included in the expansion, as a nice bonus since the upcoming expansion focuses on the events of the first two games. So basically, this isn't going to happen.

As for them not working on Warcraft 4, that's not really to do with WoW's existence. It's more because of Starcraft. Those two games are far more successful as e-sports (and just in pure sales) than the WC series. The biggest contribution WC has made to that arena is Dota. They don't want to focus on, and have their customers focus on, two parallel RTS series at the same time.

#1 will be surely released for free.

Part 2 will either be under $10, or free.

Of course, if they're going to go through all of that work
to update them, I'd plunk down $5 for each.

The first two games were great... for their time. I've gone back and played them and while there are some features I really like, such as WarCraft I's summons (summoning hordes of scorpions as fodder ahead of your orcs was a total blast) and WarCraft 2's naval combat.

But there are also some features they improved on and going back is frustrating. For example, WarCraft I only allowed you to select 4 units at a time. It also required you to build roads to a plot of land before you could build a building there, but the roads served no actual purpose other than to limit where you could build what. And don't forget that in both War 1 and War 2, the orcs and humans were clones of each other; the only real difference were the spells of your casters but a grunt and a footman had identical health and damage, just different pictures.

Just a heads up. I've gone back and played War 1 and while it was fun, the biggest thing it did for me was appreciate War 3 and Starcraft so much more.
