A game truly worthy of being a Good old Game. It's pretty much amazing and with Deus Ex, System Shock 2 this game is a must.. Troika released three games, GoG has two of them already.. this game is published by Activision like so many GoG games... I can't imagine why it isn't already here! This is one game I am waiting eagerly for :)
Would be very pleased if this came to GOG, though I got my 3 disc version of this to work with Win 7 64-bit last night (you just set compatibility mode to XP SP3 and run as administrator) but I'm unsure about how to patch it.
Do I need to install BOTH the Official Patch 1.2 AND the Unofficial Patch (latest version is 8.6 I think) or does the latter include the former ? And does the Unofficial Patch contain the widescreen resfix or do you need to download and install that separately ?
But yes, not everyone wants to use Steam and a GOG version would be very welcome.
While Bloodlines uses Valve's Source Engine it's not in any way or for attached to Steam.
Probably can't be added since its one of the games that uses Valve's own Source engine... They are very much into DRM their own technology. Unfortunately :(.
C'mon GOG... Please... Bring the Bloodlines in here. I don't want to buy (or maybe borrow would fit better) from Steam. It's just unfair that this game is not available in here. Never played it though, but I've watched so many gameplays - and that made me want this game.

This game would be an excellent addition to GOG.com for sure but there is one issue with this. Those who still have the original discs can play without any issues as long as they install the game and then run it under compatibility mode for windows xp. And if they install the official 1.2 patch and the most recent unofficial patch (or one of the mods that include any of the more recent unofficial patches, like the Clan Quest Mod) then it will run just fine without errors. Due to this fact, and the fact that the fan made mods make the game a whole lot better than it's original release, it may be low on GOG.com's priority list....however, the fan made mods do not work together, only one mod will work at a time and if more than one mod is installed the game creates problems, so if GOG.com could figure out a way to make their version include all the bug fixes and all the mods....I would buy this from GOG.com, otherwise, I have no need of this game as I have the original discs.
So many years after the game came out and there are still groups that make patches for this great ( but broken ) game. Gonna get once it is on GOG ;)
Considering Troika is long defunct, I would strongly advise against purchasing this game. Unless you want to support the publisher that rushed the game and killed the developers.
I wholeheartedly agree, although I have got both the original 3cd version (as sold in Germany at the time (CD box plus manual) as well as a 1 DVD version (inofficial version 2.6, based on 1.2). I personally prefer the Trupatch version over the unofficial patch version (I finished the game in its Trupatch version (pre gold) and was incredibly surprised given the reputation of the game being allegedly bug-ridden - the effort of cleansing the game of bugs has so far been incredible (I can only speak for the Trupatch line that I have tried and finished) but that is up to everybody to decide for him or herself. It is a truly magnificent game. (Hi Tessera, you are incredibly gifted if a bit ever so slightly slightly mad... :-))
I would so buy this if it came to GOG! I hope they add it!
vampires in this game don't sparkle....instabuy :D
One of the best games I ever played. I so want to talk to a stop sign as a Malkavian :))
Yes please!
I think the vote button is broken..... I've clicked it constantly for a month D: oh nooooo .... lol
I would soooo buy this
I really hope this makes it to GoG. Many fond memories of this game. : )
Having a fully patched updated version that runs under Win7 without drm would be so very, very tasty....*creepy vampire music in the background*
I will buy this 100%
I will even buy all the free bonus content.
Just take my money!
This game is a classic...I have it on disc, but would really like a GOG version. There's almost 10,000 people that are waiting to buy this on GOG!
I had so much joy with this game in the past, please help me regain some of that joy :D.
Here's a game that should be in GOG.
this game is in my top 5 RPGs, bg2, f2, arcanum and this, i need to think about 5th.
@willyum not 100% sure since I hadn't got that far in the game when I switched from XP to 7 & lost all my progress, , but the unofficial wesp patch seemed to make the game run well for me, it glitched occasionally, but nothing bad, and as far as I managed to get there were no crashes . The official patch does clear up a lot of the more serious bugs, but in this case the official patch isn't necessarily the best one, and the unofficial patch might be the better one to install, as its much more thorough. (the most recent versions of the unofficial patch incorporate the official one anyway).
C'mon gog, make it happen!
I'm in love with this stage in CRPG making, the one that brought us FPS/RPG hybrids as immersive and moody as Deus Ex and this one. If you can release this with good compatibility, stability and patched it's a sure buy for me and so many others.
@Siegor: I recall that as well! For me, it was right after completing a mission where you have to get onto a boat to escape. The game would always crash the minute I touched the boat. After encountering that, I shelved the game and haven't gotten around to re-playing it, so I'm not sure if the fan patch fixes that bug or not. :-\
Would be nice to have the game here, I know it needs patching but the official and unofficial patches are not hard to find and could be included.... I have the CD version but not sure how compatible it is with 7 (had XP the last time I played )
I can not even tell you how I love this game. It is always hard to make it work on modern systems with widescreen and high quality but possible and the gameplay is awesome. So many options.
Would be great to have it here, patched of course. I recall a gamebreaking bug where the game would always crash when finishing a specific mission.
This a fantastic game, with a great blend of horror, action, and humor. The writing in this game is great, and even with some of its "quirks" (i.e. the game is fairly buggy) it's one of my favorites. Definitely deserves a gog release.
It's $20 dollars everywhere else, so if it comes here it'll be $20 dollars, too.
A functional version of this game would be amazing. I have many fond memories of it but I find it near impossible to make any version run on Windows 7, specially the 64bit and even with the patches. It would be fantastic if GoG could make this happen!
+1 I have the original media put installing it from CDs takes too much time plus the patching plus the cracking the exe so that I don't have to have the CD constantly in my drive (it is an old CD to begin with). Steam has it for 20€ which I find a tad on the high side if The Witcher 2 goes for 20$. A pre-patched/DRM-free GoG version would make so much more sense...
I had a CD from a while back, but I used it so much it stopped working :( Which is why I'd so much love to buy it from GOG with all the goodies that come with it ;)
Great game. The only one from Troika that GOG doesn't have yet. Using one of the fan patches is pretty essential, but they could just have a mod guide on the game's page like they did with Torment.
Seriously, how good is this game? I'm not a goth but if you are this game was made for you. Loved the really dark themes, great characters, homages to horror pop culture (Romero as the gravekeep lol)...so many cool things based on a really cool universe. As a fan of arcanum, fallout, baldur's gate, etc. There's every reason for this to be on gog!
The game was available on Dotemu a while back. But isn't there anymore because there deal with Activision expired
Own it on Steam, been waiting for Wesp's Unofficial Patch to hit some kind of "final" stage before I dig in, as he seems to keep releasing new patches. Also watched an LP of this way back when. It's simply amazing. The depth and quirkiness to the characters; the (still) unmatched facial animation tech of Source; the richness of the WoD universe; the amazing writing in dialogues and quest lines. It's a legendary game that's unfortunately in the hands of Activision, of all entities.
Sure, I think so, in fact I think that the GOG.com system should show to users that this game (and every game with the same problem, but I hope few, very few games but good like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines) is continuosly updated for better experience and playability. Maybe this could be a site feature (I think that there is in the requested site features yet).
Without the patches this game is unplayable. Unless GOG releases the game with the patches, I don't see it coming anytime soon.
Just found out this is a Source Engine game. Are games that use Source not allowed on PC retail platforms outside of Steam? At least that would explain the game's absence despite Redemption being here.
Would be damn awesome. Got it as retail and as steam - would also buy it on GOG if I could :D
Meow!
Activision owns the right and they dont dig the whole no DRM thing
Best Game ever. Just download the Community patches released two month ago.
I downloaded this off Gamestop's site a long time ago, only played it a bit though. I kept the installer just in case, and not long ago I had to get my hard drive wiped. Thanks to the protection I can't re-install it now, Gamestop no longer has it on the site, or any record of my purchasing it. Also, if I updated it to the newest patch (unofficial or official), the game would ask me to insert the disc. So I also had to play an old version even when I bought it. If only there were some way to buy it, and download it again if something happened to my computer....someplace I could view my collection of games and install them any time I needed? But does such a place exist?
One of the best RPGs and vampire games in existence. With the community restoration patch, it goes beyond brilliant.
I have a copy of this on Steam...and I would buy it again if GOG released it.
PLEASE get this game. It will make my wife's day
I have this game on disk, but I would rebuy it from I own this game on disk. however I would buy it again from this site for the updates and such so I wouldn't have to patch it.
