Charodiy_UA The Suffering - an AWESOME Game with a capital letter!
One of my favorite survival/horror games of all time! It comes with the original story (I do not know a single other game with such a cool plot); a lot of guns and munitions that not only work differently but also feel completely different and that is a cool feature; sound design is also - a strong part of the game (of course when it work; sometimes it bug out because of a lack of optimizations for modern OSs); enemies are different and scary most of the time. All I mentioned before is pure "fun" and when I say "fun" (in this case) I mean pure EVIL in its way. Absolutely gorgeous game, but because of its age, The Suffering is not great for modern Hardware and Software (OSs). That is why a Remake/Remaster - is much needed nowadays, so gamers can play their favorite Horror game on modern PCs.
Charodiy_UA What a nice (fearsome) franchise - "The Suffering", especially the first game! But to play on a modern PC you need to take at least some antidepressants to configure all the necessary parameters to make the game at least playable. So, we, gamers need Remaster/Remake for The Suffering game series!
P.S. Nightdive Studios - it is a good opportunity for you to give a master class on "How to make a priceless classic alive again"!!!

m3tamind EDIT: okay, it was a moderate success: no 16:9 resolutions, and half of the sounds and dialogues doesn't play. it seems, the RIOT engine has several limitations which would need severe patching to overcome...
m3tamind huh. i just remembered, i've got both "The Suffering", and "The Suffering: Ties that bind" released on one DVD courtesy of CD-Project. i'm gonna to try it run on modern-spec laptop with win10. hilarity would surely ensue.

KeyperOS I don't quite get how it could be sold if it's a freeware but I could see it being either a new free game or, IMHO better yet, an exta itself to "The Ties That Bind" sequel that would also be added as a new game here.
After all, TTTB detects the existence of a "The Suffering" save and imports the decisions to the start of the game.

then, work your way back up....I thought that my machine
would handle the default settings....loaded around 1/4 in of bar, then crashed...even the low rez graphics still look good....sort of like

Kobest One of my favourite games, would be an insta-buy from me if it popped up on GOG. I still have the original CDs lying around. This game is a must for third person action/horror fans!

And yes, it was once released as Ad-Supported Freeware, but as stated those copies no longer work, and were never crak... er, patched by the community. I have the original box, and it runs superb on modern machines, if you can forgive some sound glitches. A GoG package hasta be possible. Unless the US Air Force signed a hundred year lease? F4LL0UT One of my faves. Have the original discs still lying around somewhere but a GOG release would be nice. Also yeah, the game is known to have audio issues so it even comes along with some technical stuff that GOG would just love to fix. :D

tyraarane The freeware version is "technically" still available, but it was actually ad-supported, and the servers that controlled the ads are no longer online. So while you can install the freeware version (if you find it), it won't run because it can't find the ad server. Also while the retail/non-freeware version runs remarkably well on modern systems (or at least on Win7 x64 for me), it does have some issues with sounds not playing correctly. A GoG release would be an insta-buy for me, personally.
