Also, why is Bethesda still selling their 11 year old game at this price point? Have they really not sold enough copies yet?
VirgilTheMad Thank you so much. This was an instant buy for me. At this point in my life I refuse to play games with DRM anymore, and it really doesn't feel like I'm giving up much as most of my favorites are DRM free already. Two that stood out as ones I was sorely missing were Skyrim and Borderlands 2. Now at least one of them is finally available.
I went with SE, and mod managers updated the day of GoG's release to work with this version in mind. Deeply grateful to everyone involved in this decision as well as the modders who keep our games alive and well.
phase.verocity I wish it included the oldrim version. I find it always runs better on my surface go 2 tablet.
vetra_gamer Note, the AE Edition will have problems with some mods in the SE edition. The most of the other editions won't work at all.

DaedraEater There's like no chance y'all are going to credit people who have the special edition for legendary if/when you ever get the ok to sell it on the platform, huh? Technical argumentation and more than valid criticism of Bethesda's hypercapitalist BS aside, my lizard brain wants to at least keep an eye on the addition with all the silly new DLC eyecandy for the (maybe not even at this point) eventual price drop on the Legendary release. Nox--- This is not available, probably because Bethesda pushes for a scam on Steam. GOG does not sell scams. Look up the Special Edition, Anniversary Edition, conditions and stuff. Even though the game is 11 years old.

KnossosDomovoi Skyrim is everywhere, in every platform, it's even been a meme for years that you can run the game even in toasters and other house appliances. Except it's not on GoG. More than 10 years after release. It's about time to fix this.
This November it will be 11 years past the 11.11.11 release date. Will it finally happen?

AlphaSpetsnaz Skyrim LE is 32-bit (severe memory limitations, causes a LOT of crashes even with few mods)
Skyrim SE is 64-bit (no more memory limitations, way more stable even with a lot of mods)
We need this game on GoG already. I'm done with Steam, I want all my favorite games DRM-free.
Crazy_McGee One thing that LE has over SE: It can be found on Amazon or eBay in disc format. If for nothing else it can be stored away for archival purposes, free from the shadow updates ('hotfixes') that plague modern games.

KainTheConquerer No, Skyrim LE is NOT better than SE. SE can be fixed easily enough including the sound issues plus it doesn't randomly CTD every time you're truly enjoying yourself. Why people believe this silly fiction that SE is broken and LE is perfect is beyond me. I have nearly 4000 hours in LE and SE is still the superior option.
Everything LE can do SE does better even though technically LE has around 20 million more mods SE can be upgraded and has ESL and ESP-FE files which don't count towards 254 plugin load limits. I have seen people playing screenshot their games that are running over 900 separate ESPs alongside ESP-FEs and ESLs making the bulk of the load order up.

NE0N_GT In my opinion we may have a remote chance to see it on GOG only after the next TES game hit the market. Skyrim's community is pretty active and people still buy it. When a new game of the franchise will be released and no one buy the DRM version of Skyrim actually available they will release it here, to deliver the coup de grâce to gamers' wallet who want a DRM-free copy of the game. I hope I'm wrong, but companies like Bethesda and Microsoft are greedy enough to behave as I expect.
vetra_gamer Lets not forget what happens when you are online with most games with poor security. Hackers will use any exploits to destroy your system. It happened to me for about 3 years, until I discovered it was DRM-MALWARE exploits. I had to reinstall the system about every month after various destructive acts.
vetra_gamer Rumors have that at 11/21 Skyrim will be released on GOG, a DRM_FREE edition.
