@megaRock58 There was a remake. It's called Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition and was on all platforms. It's repainted and revoiced with the original Guybrush. I saw Oliver Franzke from Double Fine talk about creating it while he was at LucasArts. It's in his DFA Sidequest interview "I Would Have Absolutely Laughed".

I don't personally need this buy game again but anything that gives gog.com more money (to hopefully invest on bringing us more features/games) is good in my book. I can't see how this could possibly not sell. The graphics, music and humor have all aged very well. Compatibility issues are nil since Scummvm runs on everything. Heck, I even got it running on my Wii with full wiimote-mouse support (you just need to tweak the audio files. And have a softmodded Wii.)

For the love of all things monkey, please bring back this game!! My old ass disc will no longer run on my shiny new-ish laptop. I need to once again stand in the clearing and leave the sound on, to taunt Murray on his spike in the swamp, to scroll through all the versus of "A Pirate I was Meant to Be." PLEEEEEASE.

Love the game, perfection of adventure games. But, Telltales remake of this (I played on Xbox) was suberbly well done, so I see no further need for GoG release! I`d rather see a game otherwise unobtainable.

Curse of Monkey Island introduced me to this wonderful series, and will always be my favorite. It would be great to have a version that runs properly on the newer systems.(I have the old dsics, but they have severe issues without some painful patching and emulation with sound/music and cuscenes).

@tcostin - Curse of Monkey Island is NOT available on Steam. It's the only one in the series, aside from that which we will not name, that is not available. This would be another insta-buy for me.

Bring out The Curse of Monkey Island on GOG.com please. The Special Editions of Monkey Island 1 & 2 were great, but The Curse of Monkey Island has held up so well over the years it doesn't need an update. Just re-release the original and I'll be happy.

got a german version. the song sequence is cut in all european releases, can be restored by patching or changing the language for that part in scummvm.

Sadly, GOG is yet to add any LucasArts titles to it's library, much less Monkey Island. Seeing that they probably won't release it any time soon, I ended up buying a copy off Kijiji.

This is not on steam. They have never re-released this one. I think the game before me is confusing this with the earlier, re-released Monkey Island games. Anyway, great game. I still own it on the original disks.

This is defo needed! I tried playing from disk the other day. I've never been through so many emotions in such a short space of time! Tears of joy when i found the disk. I nearly died laughing at it asking me to install Direct X 5.0. Followed by crushing sadness when it refused to run on my PC ='[

This game is so high on my Top 10 best games of all time that this has to be playable in Win7/Win8. Curse of Monkey Island is a game I will buy instantly if I see it on GoG. Just to see Murray again is almost worth any price tag.

I completely agree, 2009mph. The tech is already in place: they could just package it with SCUMMVM and sell it as-is on iTunes (and not bother with crappy "HD updates" which would only suck,) and make a lot of money for almost no effort or expense. Heck, I still play it on my desktop, and even I'D pay a bit just to be able to play it on iOS!

Agreed! Definitely my most favorite part of the MI franchise!!! Curse of MI has the best atmosphere and brilliant voice acting. I especially like the whole atmosphere on the first island: great soundtrack and soundscapes! Lucas Arts has remade part one and two but I'm not sure what they will do with this part. Hopefully it will just be re-released.

I still wish they had made Monkey Island 4 in the cartoon style they used here in MI3, instead of the crappy-looking 3D character models they went with. This was a worthy sequel to MI2, and I hope you guys can provide it for the masses!

this game is extremely difficult to get, sure you can download it pirate style, but even if you do, your computer ALWAYS has problems with it, i say, get a copy of this game, and make it playable on any of the new computers
