TIE Fighter was arguable one of the best space fighter sims ever made, right up there with Freespace 2. It is such a pity that it can't be run properly on post Vista OS with a lot of coding and Virtual console work. I'd buy this, and all the other X-Wing games over again on day 1 if they were ever released.

If you ever do release this game, GOG, please make sure you include the CD DOS version that includes all the expansions but keeps iMUSE and the cutscenes.

I am dumbfounded that Lucasarts would re-release a bunch of adventure games from the 90s, but neglect what are probably the most popular space sim games in the history of computer gaming. TIE Fighter was THE space sim to play. People who didn't like sims bought joysticks so they could play TIE Fighter. Even Freespace 2 can't compare. Maybe Disney will have better sense.

This game was THE game that changed my opinion of gaming. The wing commander series was fun at times, but this....the music, the story, the combat, tied in with a wonderful mission briefing, it took a gamer to another place.

If you do manage to release this, I would love it to be the Tie-CD version and not Tie 95. Like others I feel the iMuse soundtrack is much better than the Red Book Audio. Yes the improved 3D is nice to look at, the 95 version really loses the charm that the Tie CD version had.

This is my favorite game EVER, and it would make my YEAR if this was made to work easily on a modern PC. And not the Win95 version, the old school DOS version. The IMUSE midi music in that version is far superior to the redbook audio of the Win95 version. Please, please, please!!!

The original CD-ROM version had iMUSE, it was a later CD-ROM release that improved the graphics engine and changed the music to Red Book audio. I would prefer the original CD-ROM to any of the newer releases.

Yes, Tie Fighter, now the question is, should they put the floppy or the cd version on here? As I recall reading, the floppy version had better music, using the IMuse system it was more in tune with the action on screen, whereas the CD version had an orchestral version that was randomly streaming off the CD and not in tune with the gameplay ofc. Guess they need to include both floppy and CD version in one glorious package :)

The entire Xwing/TIE Fighter flight sim game line were simply incredible. Heck I'd pay $60 per if they re-leased the games with nothing changed but updated graphics. Getting these via GOG in their original format though would be the best!!!

this is the best game ever when it comes to space sims. i had a bit of the the same feeling in galaxies when i was flying ther,... but lacking the story... id rly like to see this game back to life.. now that lucas has retired. its time to put thie old game out ther again..and maybe make some remakes with todays standards :)

i have the windows 95/98 collectors edition of this game installed on Windows 7 and it works great. but it would be great to have DRM-free version.
