I'd be fine with TSLRCM on GOG, why not? :)
And the more people get to experience TSL the better, it's truly a great game. Go GOG!

The versions of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II offered by steam and retail stores does not work on most computers. If GOG does choose to sell SW: KOTOR TSL to the public, be sure that it actually works and does not crash like the steam and retail versions.
Great game IMO better than the first.
Bought retail CD-ROM version on Amazon. After hours of patching and what-not I gave up. Bought the Steam version, clicked on the icon and it worked!! No hassle! Even works with the restored contents patch. So what I'm trying to say is, I don't think GOG wants to go over this process all over again to make a workable game, and I don't think we should ask them for it either.
I'd still love to see this game on GOG. I grabbed Deus Ex on Steam, and a couple of days later it showed up here for less money and without DRM. I was frustrated by that, and I don't want to make the same mistake with Knights of the Old Republic II. This game is near and dear to my heart. I love the characters, I love the story (which seems to mimic the structure of a Homeric epic), and I'd hate to ruin all the good memories with the resource vacuum that is Steam.
I agree with AlbetrtCole's comment. The plot had so much more depth to it than KotOR's, and it was evident pretty much from the get-go. KotOR TRULY was a great game. I'm not knocking it in the least. The thing about the plot though is that, while a great plot, it has quite the typical "hero-of-the-day" kind of style. I suppose that's how I would define it; hopefully, it's clear enough what I'm trying to get across. It was more flat in that regard. KotOR II's plot, on the other hand, was much deeper and intricate and DIFFERENT (different referring to the style of the plot in general). I found it to be exceptionally interesting and intriguing. Multiple times throughout my playthrough I found myself commenting about the plot. Loved it. Period.
This game is now available on Steam for all those looking to purchase this game digitally.
I can't find a place where you can buy a digital copy of this game and having played the original, but never playing this I'd really like to give it a shot.
I lost my copy of the game a few years back. :\ Still have the first game on CD though :P This really needs to be available I loved this game and would like to experience it again.
In all honesty I'm really hoping for this to be available to buy. Fingers crossed.
I have a bought copy but my computer is brand new, so for some reason it thinks my graphics card is not good enough to run the game so if GoG had it i wouldnt have that trouble :)
Will throw money at GOG if they get this one.
Lost my physical copy of the game a long time ago. Would really love having this game here.
Actually it has been finished. Checkhttp://www.moddb.com/mods/the-sith-lords-restored-content-mod-tslrcm/downloads/tslrcm-18
It doesn't need a GOG version, it works fine on Windows 7. What it needs is a *finished* version.
@equa3sign Really? Then how do you explain my being able to play it on Windows 7? If GOG were to get the rights to sell it I hope they contact the creators of TSLRCM (The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod) and host it on GOG as well, It makes the game so much better!
The point of having it here is that it does't work on Vista/Windows 7.
Just buy it on Amazon.com ... There is no DRM so I dont see the point of having it here at GOG
Very underrated. If we talk of depth, it goes beyond KotOR.
This game was a disappointment. Worth the money? Sure. A true great? Never.
Haven't played it yet and would love to.
Except it isn't available on any digital distribution system that I know of. Having it on GoG would be great. I can say goodbye to my disc forever!
Re-releasing the game as we know it wouldn't make much sense as - as many have pointed it out - it is available elsewhere and it works. BUT! If we could get a kind of "director's edition", as it was rushed by the publisher and most of the game's cons resulted from that... So if we could get the game as the developers envisioned it, with all the cut content, with full storyline for all the characters... now that would be worthy of a lots of my moneys. But maybe Kickstarter is a better place for such, or something.
I would really love this. It's one of the few games that are absolutely impossible to track down anywhere.
No. You can get this already everywhere else. It works.
I'd love it if KOTOR 2 was made available. I have it on disc but I can't get it to work anymore. Even if it's buggy and incomplete, I'd still be willing to spend money on it because it is a good game.
By the way I've had no trouble getting it to run on my new Alienware system with an I7 processor and Windows 7 Premium. Maybe there are bugs but I had -no- problems whatsoever on my system.
KotOR 2 is one of my all time favorite games. It's even better with the fan made 'Restored Content Mod'. I already own the game on Xbox and PC but I'd buy it again on GOG just to show my love.
Please make this happen! I've been wanting to play this game again for such a long time.
Please! I never finished this game! It crashed on the same mission twice when I owned it on Xbox! Both times, it corrupted the entire save file and I never finished it D:
If they released a DRM free KotOR II that worked on modern PCs, they have no idea how much money they would make.
i'd pay for kotor 2 drm free
DRM free KOTOR2? Do want!
The gimped genius prodigy of the KOTOR family and largely appreciated by critics despite the glaring flaws inflicted by the usual rabid cash-in publisher antics.
@Verdan - thanks, I never knew about that mod, just the Team Gizka one. I'll check that out if I can find my old KotOR II discs!
I picked up a boxed copy at Target and have seen it in WalMart as well. When I picked it up a couple of months ago it was $20. I grabbed it when I saw it because it is unavailable on any of the digital distribution channels as everyone has already noted.
It's not available on Steam.
damit, meant to post that on the kotor wish, not this one
this IS available on steam, contrary to previous posts.
I'd even love a buggy, nearly unplayable version for digital distribution. I've got the original which installs and plays just fine on windows 7 64 bit. The restoration project or patches/fixes don't need to be included because the forum page can have a sticky on where to download what is required to make it truly enjoyable.
I'd love to see this, but I'm not going to vote it up. Simple reaosn beign that it's pretty much unplayable in its current state. If it could be patched to work though, then I'd certainly be willing to pay for it.
KotOR is not available anywhere because it is so buggy that it does not run on modern systems. That is why Steam does not want to deal with the problems.
I've wondered why this isn't on Steam, even. Is there some sort of rights mishap going down with this game specifically?
There's another Restoration Mod thats pretty much complete and makes the game feel a lot more polished, but Mods aren't really what GOG is for... The Mod: http://deadlystream.com/forum/files/file/13-tslrcm/I just hope to see all the Lucasarts games here soon!
I second everything Anomaly suggested.
Yeah, Kotor II was rushed out the door, but then, so were plenty of other games on GOG. Anachronox certainly could have benefited from more time in development (barring the fact that extra time would've very likely lead to it's cancellation), but as rough around the edges as it is, it's still a brilliant game. Kotor II isn't avaiable anywhere right now. Not even Steam. That may be due in part to how flawed it was, among other factors. I still thought it was a great sequel, though, and for the right price, plenty of people will be more than eager to pick this one up. Of course, I don't expect to see Kotor II here for a very long time. We don't currently have any LucasArts or Star Wars titles, and just getting DRM-free Kotor 1 would be a feat in and of itself. I'd expect to see Dark Forces months before we ever see this game show up, but hopefully one day...
But only if you can go back to Team Gizka, acquire and finish their corrected game files, and give Lucasarts the two-finger salute and say, "this is how it's done!" I so would love to play a properly completed version of Kotor 2.
