Hi,
I have got both parts but unfortunately both parts (1 worse than 2) tend to be divas. They do not start if you have a modern Nvidia graphics card under Windows 7 or later. I have got the two original German retail versions and it can happen that they only minimize if you start them. What can actually help is copying installed copies to another directory (prior to a deinstall) and starting them without proper installation through their actual exe files, not the launcher files - did work for me under Win7 Home Premium but proved more tricky under Win8Pro (part 2 could be unstable in certain parts (more precisely if it involved watching stored scenes via the 'in game computer' as e.g. the Coorta killed sequence on Peragus station) - final word not spoken here - will continue to test (if I get time...)...) Nevertheless, my two German original retail versions tend to be more cooperative than my English collectors edition DVD. If GOG were to release both parts, I would be grateful for versions that a) run at all when installed properly and b) in widescreen mode - both games are utter milestones - I have finished part two and hope to do with part one although part two was a bit weird - although I finished my character as a light side character the game end sequence played the dark character end sequence - being the stupid twat that I am sometimes I would not be opposed to the idea of buying the games yet again a third time - yes, they really (!!!) are that (!!!) good
A version that isnt a nightmare to get working on any new OS would be great.
One of the greatest games ever made, would buy in an instant no matter the price.
I would love to buy it here assuming Gog can get it to run on Windows 7.
That would be the great game to have in collection! Also it would be nice if GoG will include unofficial patch from Xenon which corrects a lot of bugs.
fyi Kotor works fine on a laptop... what both games have an issue with is 64bit chipsets.
One of my all-time favorites, but I can't get it to work on any of my machines. If GOG gets us a patched version, I will buy it in a heartbeat.
KOTOR needs to be available to work in Windows 7. I, too, have tried the workarounds to no avail. This game is definitely at the top of my list. PLEASE get it on GOG!
I want KOTOR+KOTOR2
LucasArts has recently released a boxed collection of the two KOTOR games for $20 on Amazon. They still use SecuROM-based disk checks unfortunately.
I own KotOR via Steam, and I love it. But I'd prefer a DRM-free version. Fortunately, Steam doesn't require an internet connection to play many of their games -including KotOR. Thus, I'll be sticking it out with the Steam version.
They just came out with the combo KOTOR 1 & 2 pack on Amazon, so I don't quite think we'll see that here.
I bought this from D2D (and have since tried the version I downloaded from GameFly). Both versions crash on start up on computer (XP!) because of my modern video card. I would LOVE to finally be able to play it again, but having tried almost all the (very few) work around possible I fear that the only way I'll be able to do so again (excepting the very few time the game decides to randomly work) is if GOG get it and provides a version compatible with modern computers. I 100% support this request.
Steam is a DRM, I don' buy games with DRM. Please, publish this game in GoG and multilanguage.
Just buy it on STEAM, it's not like this game is hard to find.
This game is the berst RPG what i see!
This game was awesome back in the day.
@Kyoshiro80 Steam version sucks! It not worth any money!
As much as I'd love this to happen, I recall reading somewhere that Lucas Arts is really picky with the games' rights.
@Kyoshiro80 Is it DRM-free on Steam? I doubt it.
It's already available via Steam, no reason to publish it here.
I agree with Leroux: There's no need to duplicate entries in the wishlist based on desired packaging or edition. At worst, this type of thing actually does harm by possibly splitting up votes for the game between multiple entries. This happened frequently with the old wishlist. Let's keep it from happening here, eh?
I think it's kind of counterproductive to duplicate existing and popular requests just because of the way you'd like them packaged. If you vote for a single game in a series that doesn't mean it has to be sold individually if it ever gets here. If you want your voice to be heard, I recommend voting for these instead:http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/games/star_wars_knights_of_the_old_republic_1http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/games/star_wars_knights_of_the_old_republic_ii_the_sith_lords_1
Great games. KOTOR 2 is great only when played with restoration pack.
KOTOR 2 has a problem running on laptops. Please bring us this game. I own a box copy but would pay again for a working version I could play on my laptop (my only system).
Would love to play kotor 2 again, although for the most part it wasn't quite as good as itrs predeccesor it was still a brilliant game.
I would buy KOTOR or KOTOR2 from GOG without hesitation. Those games were epic.
They are actually releasing a KotoR 1 and 2 collection so this is actually viable as a bundle now.
Saw this on Steam as well; however, feel the same as most of you guys, would rather buy from GOG. This site feels more like a community and more like a bunch of guys who love games than a large company just wanting your money.
Definitely want KOTOR to be here. Made compatible with windows 7 and running stably. Classic STAR WARS.
i never played this games, and i feel soo sorry, hope that it gets here soon
Almost 10 years since release (I'm getting old...) and imo it's definitely a classic.
GOG is not only about Good Old Games (They sell relatively new games), is about DRM-Free Games too, and I would choose GOG over Steam anytime. And yes, I would like to see this game here on GOG, it would be a instant-buy.
I so want to finally finish this game and I do believe you, GOG, can make it happen. Steam version has so many graphical bugs, it's simply unplayable :'(. A minute it appears here, it'll go straight to my shelf.
I realize that this game, and many others on the wishlist are on Steam but I'd much rather own them here on GOG. I'm sorry but GOG gives me a feeling of ownership that just simply do not get with Steam. So yeah, I want this on GOG because I want GOG to thrive even more.
Guys, seriously this is on steam and it works perfectly fine on windows 7. Don't waste your time and vote for older games that actually should be on here.
Such a gorgeous, lovingly crafted game, developed when BioWare wasn't yet getting too big for their britches.
I know this is on steam but it crashes or freezes all the time since I run Windows 7. This and KOTOR II (which is so hard to find without spending a lot) would be amazing to play at 1080p (if possible through GOG) and on Windows 7. I would both right away.
I've never played this game , but for what ive heard I hope that GOG will get it soon
Available elsewhere already but if there is a classic "newer" game more timeless and acclaimed than this one I'd love to hear about it. You must get this ASAP
I wish this game to run on my computer. I will be glad to pay to play KOTOR without visual bugs and crashes and I want to continue the story after I leaved Taris.
I'd love to see this (and KotOR II) as they are both getting on a bit and gettingh them to run decently on Windows 7 is doable but a right PITA. So a version that runs well on Win 7 would be a boon.
