Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Dark Forces II completed
Possibly the best Shooter ever made. Really needs to be fixed and released for modern OS
So much yes. Bring forth the childhood!
I would really like a tweaked version of this game. The Steam release is all bugged, videos and music don't play right. This was a unique, fun story-based game and it deserves a replay.
This game gets my vote! Awesome game! DF II needs to be released here!
Jedi Knight + Mysteries of the Sith, working on modern platforms, with Direct3D-support and the fantastic soundtrack - that would be a dream coming true indeed! I would buy it right away. It's the best Jedi-game in my opinion, because to be a Jedi here doesn't seem like something simple and normal like in other games. It gives you a very special feeling holding the lightsabre and fighting duels with dark Jedi.
I need this game to be reliably playable on modern systems!
This needs more votes NOW!!!!!!!
have it on cd
Recently bought it on Steam. It's one big mess. I had to install older videocard drivers, the music doesn't loop, so after a couple of minutes your playing the level without music and the menu and videos are in a small minimized screen in the top left corner.
I would love it if this game would get the proper GOG treatment. Steam has shown its lazy and greedy face by just throwing an unoptimized version online and asking money for it (even if it's just a few bucks).
Please bring the Dark Forces II experience back in all it's working glory!
I'd buy it if it worked out of the box unlike the Steam version which has a screwed up color palette for me. It can take hours to set up JK to work and you have to apply the right patches for the right graphics card. Ick! Such a pain! Fix that nonsense and we will love you for it!
My mistake regarding the live action part. I was referring to the FMV-cutscenes in my previous post.
How to summarise Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II: 100% action, 100% space opera, 100% live action = 100% Star Wars!
Oh please GOG, get this available to us. And please, please make sure you can get the terrific John Williams music in the background, as it was intended when the game was first released. My complete and favorite game of all time. If you can get this, you will have exceeded all expectations!
Can't get my disc version to work anymore, so I'd really love to buy it here.
Would love to see this classic game here on GOG!
Disney closed LucasArts, but their games should remain accessible and also playable for all times.
Best Star Wars FPS ever.
These still sell like hotcakes when on sale over at Steam. Ditto for my aging GotY edition of this with Mysteries of the Sith in a box. +1
Lucasarts is made by a bunch of idiots. Those games are true classics and their memory (and playability) should remain. Although it would be awesome, nobody is asking for great game overhauls: we only need some simple tools, like a official 32-bit installer to replace the absurdly 16-bit ones and some minor patches to provide compatibility with modern systems and modern video/audio cards - at least sufficient enough to run those games. My Steam copy of JKDF 2 don't work at all with my HD Radeon 6970 and I tryed several fixes for it with no avail. Even if I could fix, the lack of the original game music ruins all the game atmosphere and it's insulting. I think if they do not want to show some respect to the Star Wars Game Community with the excuse that those games does not sell anymore, why the hell they do not release the source codes to the community so other people can work on a fix? Sorry for my bad english, but I feel that way.
This remains an underrated classic and my dark-horse for best game of all time. It is easily in my top two or three. What's not to love? A WELL DONE Star Wars story with tons of atmosphere that echoes the original trilogy. Great music, great graphics, practically flawless gameplay, one of the first (that I'm aware of) to meld RPG character development mechanics into a shooter, multiple story paths, interesting levels and puzzles, morality scale... This game seriously has it all, and it's a blast from start to finish.
one of my favorites; bring back the good old times :) without steam crap.
I remember playing this game when i was 9 and even now this game remains one of my all time favorites.
the steam version worked for me. but it did not for some people. in that case i still support this wish.
We need the classic 90's LucasArts Games Optimized for windows 7. Dark Forces 2 Is not only one of my All time favorites but was my first major video game. But my disk and Steam copies no longer work as all our computers are now windows 7 on my end. Please revive not only these LucasArts games but more cult classics from the 80's-90's and more Abandonware so that us people who love retro games and new generation gamers with low end computers running modern OS can experience these long abandoned games. Keep up the good work, GOG. Unlike steam your games don't require me to use an offline mode that requires you to be online to use. I just wish there was some sort of DRM free music service too because CDs today come with a lot of filler i don't want to waste money on and itunes is a pain in the gulliver to use with my sony MP3 players. Just dropping that last hint towards the music companies.... DRM free equals happy customers. No fighting with flawed software and the freedom to back up your purchases onto some external drives without worry of losing access to said software in the future.
Definitely a must. With the expansion.
Favourite game of all time, steam release was disappointing at best!
Release on GoG would be awesome cause it would actually work. Unlike on steam where many people just cant play it (me included :/ )
Has been released on Steam, but didn't include the music. this version would need to rectify that.
my best game of all time!!!!
