Tordhs, Jazz isn't Freeware, so you just posted a Warez link, which -- if I remember correctly -- is against the rules.
you can get it as freeware here if you want: http://www.myabandonware.com/game/jazz-jackrabbit-2bf#download
but i really, really, really, want this game on gog!! its an instant buy!
ps. instructions for how to get jazz jackrabbit to work (under the D-Fend Reloaded Setup section ;) http://www.myabandonware.com/howto/
Jazz jackrabbit games are right up there in the top3 best pc platformers ever!
Loved this game when I was kid and would pay for this right away if GOG released it,
@Perrydotto This @GoG if there is any game that I had to buy that was on the small floppies before cds even (shocking!) of which was always shareware when i went to computer shows jazz jackrabbit along with every shareware that was ever released in the early 90s should. be. on. this. site. but more importantly why is this game NOT HERE?
This game, and the soundtrack please.
give me the jazz
@WildCat has a good point - the soundtrack is at least as good as that of Deus Ex.
Fantastic game. LOVED this as a kid, and I'd love to see it released here with extras. The soundtrack in particular would be great. PC & Mac please!! :)
If you get this alongside with the soundtrack, I will be extremely happy. Alexander Brandon deserves the attention.
GOG.com needs to bring more platformers to their platform (no pun intended) and what's better than good old Jazz Jackrabbit?
This. I mean, it'd be nice to see all the games from Epic before they dropped "Mega" from their name, but seriously. This.
Another excellent game that would fit the GOG.com catalogue very well. The gameplay was excellent, jump, run and gun with a great sense of speed. This coupled with great soundtrack and graphics. GOG.com: bringing back all those memories!
If Jazz ever arrives at GOG, I'd love to see the soundtrack added as bonus content. This game had some absolutely fantastic music and having it in some convenient MP3s would be great!
Epic game - Jump'n'Run at it's best!
I remember Jazz Jackrabbit from my childhood; adding this game would be epic (no pun intended).
I think the chances of this being released here have lessened now that Cliff Bleszinski(Who is pretty much the creator of this game) has left Epic. The reason behind this, is because I think he has the rights to some of this. I think it might be just the character rights he has, but even if it is just that, it makes it so that Cliff Bleszinski has to give Epic and GOG permission so that Epic can give GOG Jazz to be released. Basically, since Cliff Bleszinski left Epic, things just got complicated.
Very nice game =) Tried the demo
Brings back memories of MS-DOS days :)
@Robo4900, right you are. For GOG's benefit, here's a screenshot of all the episodes, so they know what they're looking for. http://sta.sh/07hlai3tt13
Try to get the extra Episodes as well! You can do it, team GoG!
This was MS DOS at it's finest. ;-;
Somebody go prod Epic with a stick. They're nowhere near done releasing games here yet.
I've never played this, but I've heard it's quite fun. Epic is already with GOG, and has released the Unreal series, so I don't see why can't appear on the site... unless an external developers retains the rights or something.
would be nice if gog could add the game
@Phlum, actually there are 11 episodes in total: 6 main episodes, 3 bonus episodes(From the CD version), and 2 Xmas episodes.
Man this game was just pure fun, the soundtrack was up beat and fast paced just like the gameplay, and it is still my favorite game by Cliff Bleszinski, so I would play this again in a instant.
If this is added it ideally needs to be the complete version with all seven episodes, including the Holiday Hare stuff. It'd also be interesting if you could get Gravis Gamepads to all buyers ;)
give us jazz!
No, it's a common misconseption because of its age(It was released in 1994), but it's still Shareware(Which means that the Demo is free, but you need to buy the full game). I guess it doesn't help that it's so rare.
Isn't this game free now?
I think this would be a pretty good idea. Maybe it would revive the interest in the series and who knows, if the sales would be high enough, we could be getting an HD remake or the third part would be brought back to life.
Getting back on topic, maybe this will happen on Jazz's 20th anniversary(30th of July, 2014). :)
@SkunkShampoo I got it and tried it out. It was fun but was totally not the Jazz Jackrabbit experience I was hoping for. :(
@Angelbeeps The GBA version, Jazz jackrabbit Advanced was... Not quite Jazz Jackrabbit. The game was developed by a third party that wanted to do their own thing instead of following with what worked in the previous games and made them what they were. I would only recommend it if you are really itching to try another Jazz Jackrabbit game, but it falls short of being that. Its something to add to your Jazz collection though if anything else.
Did anybody else here ever play the Gameboy Advance Jazz Jackrabbit game? I never bothered getting myself a copy because I heard it was pretty bad but Due to being Jazz deprived I'm tempted to order a copy on Amazon.
A beautiful soundtrack! I would love to play this.
Oh pleeeeeeeease make it happen! *DumDumDimDimDum-DuuumDimDim* I just read those magic words and the wounderful music (the soundtrack is a must for the game extras!) comes right to my mind... THE best J&R ever... and so damn cute. ;-) Oh, and don´forget about the x-mas-levels. Silent Night as rock version (or was it Jingle Bells?) was epic. I´d finally be able again to free bunnies and smash turtles. ;-)
Make it happen GOG! This never worked properly on the old PC I had at the time and I would love to experiance it as it should have been. Mostly for fully working music! :)
One of the best 2D platformers to ever grace the PC. EVER!
I remember playing this at least 10 years ago or so, and I've never been able to find it since. I'd LOVE to be able to play this again. =)
Complete with the comic book, please.
I've been trying to get this game for at least 3 years, and if this got added to GOG.com, it would make LOADS of people's lives easier.
Come on GOG, you know this makes sense. :D
I own the CD-ROM version and I might still got one or two original floppies laying down somewhere. A digital DRM-free copy of one of the best games ever made will complete it perfectly! ;)
Please add PC's (superior) equivalent to Sonic!
Love this game, i would love to see GOG release some more of the old DOS based games from the early 90's! Especially Epic and Apogee's stuff! I was sad to hear they were working on a 3rd game in the series in the late 90's and canceled it :(
Come on EPIC! You are already on GOG, release Jazz here!
Still have the disc, and occasionally play it, but would happily pay for the convenience that GOG offers.
Never got to complete this game :(
