It's very unlikely now that any of the Lucasfilm games will ever come to GOG? After Disney bought out Lucasfilm (for the new Star Wars trilogy), they put all stuff into their Disney Vault alongside their movies and they even canceled running new game projects. Unlikely to happen.
In search machine type: Grim Fandango (ENG) [Optimised for Modern PC] [RePack] theisozone Great for people that can't wait for the Grim Fandango HD Remastered version. :) You're all welcome and enjoy :D
with HD Remastered one add the original one . If you will sell the game
This industry is potential to reach new levels in 2008, and obtain sales of over $3 billion dollars US.Because of the budget, both large and small-scale organizations have Runescape 3 Gold been making use. Digital signs has also grow to be extensive in typical places like medical centers.
For the Linux!
yea looks like lucas arts finaly did it. here is to oping on there other classiscs. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/136027-Grim-Fandango-Remake-is-Coming-to-PC-Mac-And-Linux
Ah, beat me to it, oh well. YEAH GUYS WE DID IT!!
Honestly, this game is a significant part of gaming culture and history, it's odd it's so hard to get ahold of legally nowadays.
C'mon GOG! I'm dying (pun intended) to play this gem!
Why is this taking so long?!?
With the E3 announcement of the new Grim Fandango Remastered Version for PS4 and PS Vita and the settlement of the legal issues with the franchise maybe just maybe there is finally some real hope for the original on GOG.
I'd buy it :D Looks cool.
There is way to play Grim Fandango on modern machines - its called ResidualVM. The game is completable and save/load works well. Currently the project lists Grim compatibility as 85% it plays nicely except for some glitches.
It seems not to work on modern machines, but there's some utility to play it through, made for SCUMM games I think? Anyway, Tim plays it in a video "recently" put up, if you guys have or want to buy the CD copy, you can check that to see what program/site it is.
Maybe lucas art are a bit stingy about realising the license, maybe gog is working of something big, but this forum thread is almost two years old now. I sure wish they would give us an update or atleast some kind of acknowledgement.
I have always wanted to play this game. If you guys would just put it up, I would buy it day one.
I've wanted to play this game for years now, but by the time I heard about it I couldn't find it in stores anymore. And now it's somewhat available on sites like Amazon but it's pretty expensive and from what I've heard it doesn't work on modern PC's anyway. I'd buy it in an instant if it showed up on GOG though, whether it was the original version with GOG patches or that HD version that may come to PC too.
Need this game.
one of my favorite old time games, hope to see the original soon
OK, so the remake will probably be on several platforms, including PC. But we goglodytes want the original too.
This was such a weird, quirky little game. I'd love to see it available :)
After hearing that this'll be on PS4 and Vita soon, it would be nice if this game was added to GOG. I heard about this game so many times, it's about time I would check it out for myself.
This needs to come out for sure. I had this on CD till I lost it and hands down of one of my favourites and I would love for GOG to have it.
Don't worry too much, Dekatontail. They'll probably just redo graphics and leave the entire rest intact, including puzzles. Double Fine couldn't even shoulder anything else with four projects at once. Concerning graphics, I think the idea was floating around do adjust those to the concept art - and THAT would absolutely be great.
I'm not only worried about a possible dumbing down in the remake, but also things like the artstyle not being representative of the original, the voice acting and casting being redone, etc. I have all those dialogues stuck in my head, in my case the ones of the spanish version, and I fear that: 1. The english voiceacting won't be at the same level as the original english voiceacting, due to recasts and other things. 2. We won't get a spanish voiceacting or if we get it they either won't make an effort to round up the original cast and instead will make a half assed dub like they do nowadays. In the best of scenarios, no voiceacting will be redone, they will be ported from the originals of every language.
At least we know why it took so long to come here. A remake means a complete dumbing down for the new kids. Thanks for ruining it.
Best game ever, I want to play in PC not in PS
Awesome news about the remake. Don't worry. This will definitely come to PC after the PlayStation. http://www.avclub.com/article/grim-fandango-rise-dead-205630?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview%3A1%3ADefault
Like Tim Schafer even had any say in the platforms it'll be released. How can you call him a sell out when he doesn't own it?
It's a timed exclusive on PS. It will release on PC and Xbox One.
https://twitter.com/TimOfLegend/status/476179637987315714 Hopefully A GOG version is in the works.
Tim Schafer said they talk about other platforms soon so there is still hope
Well now we know why it's not going to be on GoG, cause good ol'Tim schaeaefer (too mad to spell it right) sold out... Playstation exclusive? (E3 sony conference) f'kin bastard...
Yeah! What Hanglyman said! I'm also really p*ssed at GOG being dead silent on this topic. It's the most wanted game after all...
With so many LucasArts games on the wishlist, I really wish GoG would release a statement as to whether they'll ever be available. Everybody wants these games and GoG remains silent. If they can't get them, ever, period, it would be nice to know. If they might be able to get them, a progress report and explanation of the difficulties involved would be good. Not expecting any promises, just... something. Anything.
I remember there being an issue with the faster PCs and the conveyor belt area. I had to use one of those processor slowdown programs. If released, this is something that needs debugged.
I didn't even know this game existed until about five minutes ago, but I looked it up on Wikipedia and I'm already craving it.
Yeah, I'm in on Grim Fandango, too. Instant purchase for me.
Please rerelease this game, new generation can really enjoy it
Yes, would love to see a updated version of this game with modern controls and hd widescreen support with no DRM. :)
@irondog ...I was simply highlighting the fact that its possible to turn it into a point and click since several posters below have stated things such as "greatest point and click ever" (so I assumed they were not aware it wasn't inherently a p&c ) I did not say the normal controls were "hard" either ... no need to come across in the confrontational manner that you did.
It took me a while to solve the puzzles over few years but I finally completed long time ago. This is a truly epic game that'll remain as one of most memorable game in my life. Grim Fandango is the most voted game request at this point. I would like some comment from GOG about its progress.
Tim Schafer doesn't have a lot to say about whether Grim will be released again so what he says isn't worth spit. If anyone can get Grim Fandango, GOG can and I'm sure they're working on it. As for the controls, what on earth is so hard about them? The lack of a cursor does make you more immersed in the game and it didn't take me long to forget all about having to use those "clunky" controls.
This game will not be re-released, It works fine on RisidualVM. you can also download a "Mouse Mod" to turn it into a point and click instead of the clunky tank key controls. Hell even Tim Scahfer said "just pirate it and buy some grim merchandise as a moral payment" If even the creator says it ain't gonna happen, forget it. awesome game though.
This is an insta-buy for me. It would be nice to see many of the old Lucas adventures here but Grim Fandango is my favourite.
