Elder Scrolls Arena, Daggerfall, Redguard, Battlespire

Added byTzukasa7's avatarTzukasa7

Can you guys please get with Bethesda and try to get these offered on GoG. In fact Arena AND Daggerfall are Both available for dl FREE on Bethesda's website if you dig for it though they are raw dos games w/o the required emulator. Why not talk to Bethesda and see if you guys can offer it here also for free with the open source dos emulator packaged with it? I mean why not? They are allowing it to spread drm free and $ free lol. Though they don't offer Redguard or Battlespire for DL and I know of nowhere to find them so if you could get Bethesada put them in the store for $5 or w/e it would be awesome to play them again.

Here is the Arena site link to show you I'm not kidding they are giving it away w/o emulator.

Ive got Arena and Daggerfall with TES Anthology boxset, but Redguard and Battlespire not only can't be bought anywhere but pirated versions do not work properly without setting up a virtual box. It's a pain in the ass and I'd really like to own those two. I'd buy Arena and Daggerfall too, just to support GOG.

Bethesda made Arena and Daggerfall available for free ages ago. However, unless you're a fan of doing things yourself I'd use the installers posted below me by UhuruNUru instead.

Redguard and Battlespire are still a pain to get a hold of, but Bethesda did make a pdf of the Redguard graphic novel available.

Redguard and Battlespire would be particularly awesome. I hope GOG can fix the compatibility issues they have.

These games need to be put up, as they are fairly hard to get hold of otherwise now. Come on, GOG, I need these games! All of them are so much better than Skyrim, which isn't that good and has yet almost become an institution.

Daggerfall has many bugfixes above and beyond vanilla.
They come alreedy DOS Box enabled and work on Win7 just fine.
GOG version may be better but maybe not as these have Many mod bug fixes applied. They are better than Bethesda's vanilla versions.
As to later games not sure Zenimax will release here at all.
Steam is more likely if at all but all for trying anyway

Think that they should be free except for the ones that aren't free from Bethesda.

I hope GOG.com can do it!

Agreed :) Obviously we can download Arena and Daggerfall for free (thanks Bethesda!) but, even so, I'd still gladly pay $5.99 for them here on GOG if it meant I could have them resplendent on my GOG shelf, with DOSbox already pre-configured, plus extras (manuals, maps, etc) - and (ideally) the CD-ROM version. GOG - please have a word with Bethesda!

Arena was released 10 years ago. Daggerfall was released 5 years ago. This is coming up to another 5 year stone where they mark their celebration by releasing a game as freeware, so either Redguard or Battlespire will be released free. If it follows the same timeline, most likely it will be Battlespire.

I played Redguard demo back in the day and really liked it. Never had the opportunity to play in the full version but would love to...

I wouldn't mind paying for the originals prior to Morrowind, if they have good support for modern operating systems.

While Arena and Daggerfall are free (and are included in the Elder Scrolls Anthology), Those are the floppy disc versions. I'd love to see the CD versions of these games made available at GOG. Never got to play Battlespire or Redguard either, so those would be a definite plus.

I would definitely like to try out Battlespire, it looks good for a short-lived game.
