One of the best-paced games I've played. Loved discovering things, loved the atmosphere. Was the most Dune-like experience I've had in a game, and it deserves a modern look. Really hope this one makes it.

The game was easy, but the art was beautiful, the time factor and day/night transitions were something I hadn't seen in an adventure game before, and the music - oh the music (especially the Amiga music - wow)! At the time, it was probably the most immersive game I had experienced. I would love to see this on GOG. If you can offer the CD version and the Spice Opera soundtrack CD as a bonus, it'd be an instant buy. :)

is this for the first dune game that more like adventure than rts? yep, I'd love to see this game on gog, also the dune2 which is probably the first real rts ever made, that one is cool too.

I'd absolutely love to get my hands on a Dune1 copy that will run on a modern machine. I can't believe it's been 22 years since it was released, and I can't believe it still has one of the best soundtracks of any game ever made!

The Dune game by Cryo has one of the best soundtracks. The music is amazing. The graphics are not as good, but for 1992 the graphics were good and the CD version of the game even has voiceovers where the NPC characters actually talk to you. I have the original CD and I am playing the game under DosBox on a Windows 7 PC. So I probably wouldn't buy it. But it would be a really nice game to have on GOG.com for other people to enjoy.

Dune was not a RTS. It was an adventure game (with a bit of strategy sure but still an adventure game). Dune 2 was the RTS one, and they were released around the same time (cryo started working on dune before even having a contract ^^).

Great adventure/strategy game, perhaps none came closer to capturing the Dune feel as well as this. Add both floppy and CD talkie versions, plus the MP3 of Dune Spice Opera, and it's a sale.

Well the true Dune is the 2D Adventure game, and I have been looking for some one like GOG to release it the cd no longer works on the vista or windows 7, I used to play this over and over again when i was a kid. I do also love the RTS Dune but the Adventure one is the one I will buy if GOG put it on here.

Man, besides being a decent adaptation, this game was so unique! Strategy, adventure and exploration, with some limited non-linearity too!

This is the original Dune! The most epic game I ever played, I consider it being the best PC Game of all time! Give it to us, GOG, because it's the Best Old Game Ever, and your mission is to provide Good Old Games, right? Stop messing with new games, like The Witcher or Alan Wake! The first dune game was pretty meh...but Dune II and it's revamp Dune 2000 (even still Emperor: Battle for Dune) were top notch phenominal RTS games!!

I so mis to play this game i have the disk version, but lost the manual so i cant play it due to the safty isue of the game, where manual is needed to type in the corect page number of shown picture ingame. Would be so nice if GoG could bypass that stupid copy protection used in the old days.

@NightK: This would be the 2D Adventure game released by Cryo, not to be confused with the 3D "Frank Herbert's Dune" released several years later by the same company. This one is awesome, the other one sucked.

With Atlantis in tow, maybe it is possible to get more Cryo games such as Dune. I with that the soundtrack will be available. It would be the perfect re-released (Stephane Picq would be proud).
