As far as I understand it, Atari Inc has publishing rights for Keen 6, while Bethesda / ID Software has IP rights. Bethesda and Atari need to come to an agreement to get this game on GOG.

Both Keen 6 and Spear of Destiny were distributed by FormGen back in the day, and Spear of Destiny was in licensing limbo for what felt like forever, but they were eventually able to release it (along with the two mission packs).

So why is Keen 6 still in limbo? I would understand if it cannot be sold alongside episodes 1-5, but give us *something*.

You're slightly wrong there. Keen Dreams was released as a shareware demo for the Softdisk game pack, and as a result is the only game in that pack that's available for free.

That's very true. I got keen 1-5 as part of my Steam version of the reboot of Rise of the Triad. Keen Dreams (Soft Disk) and Keen 6 Formgen can't be obtained through any legal means. Other than Dangerous Dave here on GOG none of ID's games from when they were with Softdisk are available.

This is despite the fact that that company has been a shell since the mid 1990s. One of the devs is selling Keen Dreams but only as a mobile app :-( RAGE!
