Well not talking about the spam under my comment, it is very plausible for there to be a Chrono Trigger pc port and work very well but… How Square Enix is now'a'days its probably not going to happen over legal stuff. Well there is FFVI on here. I'm saying it would be amazing but don't get your hopes "too high".

Chrono Trigger isn't on the PC, so this is pretty useless until there's a PC Port(Or if GOG start adding Console Games via Emulators, which is unlikely).

This game is on Android for goodness sake. No reason for there to not be a PC version.

If it starts becoming possible to snatch the best console titles of yesteryear and somehow put them on GoG, I would love it. It shouldn't be pc only titles if they have the capability to get console titles of worth too. I would love to see this.

-1, good game, bad fit for GOG. It's available virtually everywhere: iOS, Android, PlayStation Plus, NDS, PSX, etc. If you really had to get in your PC, no one's going to flame you for emulating, but it begs the question: why would you want to support SE on the PC when you can be price gouged elsewhere?

As for emulators and roms, some people don't like the illegality problem and the viruses that come with them.

Alright, after sitting down and reading my own comment.... yeah, this is a really, really odd request... also, slightly silly. GOG was made for hard to find PC titles... I actually took my vote back. I'm not saying I don't ever want to see games like Chrono Trigger on GOG ever, I'm saying that there are other, more reasonable requests that are being ignored for stuff like this. For example, the request to play games on emulators and for GOG to put up this game has more votes than LOST EDEN. Games like LE is the reason why I made a GOG account in the first place. Also, this isn't even that hard of a game to find, just get it for DS if you really want to play it. Come on, people, this is for rare PC games, not classic SNES games... Please, consider people like me who have been dying to play a flawless game from their childhood THAT WAS ACTUALLY ON PC. If you want to play chrono trigger on your PC so badly, just go to cool roms.....

Yeah, it's probably a bad idea, but people who know me best will say that I never back down from a bad idea. Sure, it sounds silly, but maybe this is the kick in the pants the creative team needs to make more installments. While GOG was built for for hard-to-find-legal-copies of PC games, does that mean we can never have a classic console game, ever? Just because you think it sounds silly, doesn't make it silly to everyone else, pal.

I would happily get an official, yes-its-going-to-work-with-a-minimum-of-fuss port of Chrono Trigger.

Chiming in the odd dare to hope that CT hits GoG... even if it is kind of unnecessary, and quite unlikely. CT remains, for me, a classic gem of 16-bit gaming. The music was unforgettable; the characters and plot were captivating and charming unto themselves; and, the detail that went into the game, was difficult to mimic. As was possible by the "Dream Team."

Since there's no official PC release, i really don't think it'll happen. More likely than not, someone has to bribe Square-Enix into porting this game.

Available for SNES in used game shops, easily emulated, re-released for a Playstation version, and even released for Nintendo DS not that long ago. This is one of my favorite games of all time, but there is no reason whatsoever for it to be on this list.

I'm personally finding it quite sad that there is such vitriol against consoles that people take to namecalling, labelling voters as spammers and "unrealistic". This is a wishlist. If people want GOG to release console games, this is the place to express that wish. If you're not interested, don't vote for it - vote for what you want. It really is sad that people feel the need to actually try and derail a wishlist thread.

Square Enix hasn't abandoned the game, they simply refuse to continue the series until all the original creative team work together on it at that team's request. There's no way SE would let this happen -- they still make money by reissuing the game every other generation, and they make a lot of it.

Does anyone who's voting for this seriously think that Square-Enix would allow a DRM-free release of a game that sells really well no matter what they dump it out on? It's always about the DRM-free for GOG, and the packaged ROM + Emulator with no DRM is unlikely to say the least. I understand there's demand, but it should be tempered with the understanding of corporate greed.

"These requests shows that there is demand." ... So if I add a wish for a pony, and 400 people vote it up, does that mean GOG should get into animal husbandry? ;p Creating new, nonexistent PC games from console games is just as irrelevant to GOG's mission. If Square can justify porting their C# iOS games to PC, GOG will probably be on the list of vendors they offer it to.

This is one game that could actually be properly ported to PC with the right backing. Square has repeatedly shown its lack of interest in the series true, but if pitched correctly having a proper PC port in the vein of the lazy Final Fantasy VII "remake with cheats" could actually work!

I really, really don't want this. Chrono Trigger is a good game and all, but GOG is a site for old PC games. It's bad enough that now most of this site's releases are forgettable adventure games from 2006, and generic retro-inspired indie games - I really don't want the visit the site every Tuesday and Thursday to find the new release is a ROM bundled with an emulator for $9.99.

I can imagine the publishers porting fully legal roms as cheap downloads. Look at Sega: they re-released their old Genesis/Megadrive line-up via "Sega Genesis Classics Series" for PC and iOS. And, when you take a good look at it, it functions ALOT like an emulator; every time you buy a 10 game volume or a single game it goes right into the same app with the other games. But instead of ".md/smd" roms, they're PAK files. But...just like an emulator. I can see Square-Enix or Konami doing this with some of their back catalogues. S-E could port Chrono Trigger and FF1 thru FF6 to an emulator sort of app for PC and Mac. Hell, I can see Konami bringing their old Genesis offerings (Castlevania Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps) to SGCS.

These requests shows that there is demand. This could be useful when paired with all other collected data to see if want correlates with sales. The worst thing that happens is nothing, by asking for these games we may eventually end up with a company releasing a PC port of something that we may have never received in a legal manner otherwise.

Again, just download an emulator and play it, or play one of the many ports. Such as on itunes.. stop spamming GOG with these silly requests.

If I recall I was waiting on this both for my psp and my wii when I first got them. I was told though that there was a lot of legalities that SE had to deal with in its release because the team had not only broken up but gone separate ways to what may have been competitors. That made it difficult to re-release it because it threw a wrench in the whole distribution make up and everyone getting their legal share... So, while I'd think it is a cool game to throw up here, personally I'd like to see Wild Arms, I don't know how likely it'll be. Again though, they have released it on pretty much everything else BUT PC at this point and it may not be as difficult. But asking SE to do a PC port may be a lot to ask in itself.

It's tacitly obvious that any console game that would be released here would be released via an emulator -- the difference being that it would be 100% legal to do so because the company that owns the game would be earning royalties from the new sales. Unfortunately, given the rackets on the established XBL, Wii Channel, and PSN storefronts, I do think a PC release is unlikely.

It is available on PSN (US side but it is to set up an US account even if you live in europe), PS1, iOS, Ninteno DS, SNES and if you are feeling a bit piratey, also as roms so I think it is quite easy to get.

I own the iOS Version of CT since the Day it was released last winter. The 2 extra dungeons from the Nintendo DS Version are included and for the first time 8 languages to chose from. Since i don't expect apple to allow me to use a gamepad with an iOS device anytime soon, I would love to buy a PC copy of this game.
