Thoughts on games I enjoyed growing up!

Planescape: Torment

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: The text was the star and the backdrops were the icing on the cake. The theme played when I first met Annah - so eerily unlike anything I've ever heard in a game up till then - chills-down-spine moment. Levelling up has never been more fun!

Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: What drew me to this one: comic book-styled cutscenes, over-the-top heroes with great powers. What kept me coming back - the many ways I could complete missions, the storyline (yes I am that easy!), the trying of different heroes for each mission.

Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: I really enjoyed roaming about in Spain to begin with - visiting Leonardo da Vinci, avoiding the Inquisition, discovering hidden streets and exploring the woods beyond the city. However the gameplay gets repetitive ; too many killquests!

Total Annihilation: Commander Pack

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: Having come from Command and Conquer, I never imagined armies could get so big! Here were not only tanks, ships and planes, but walkers, 4 legged mechs, gunships, carriers, battleships, artillery pieces, plus a one-shot-kill badass of a commander!

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obs...

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: High expectations from the people partly responsible for Fallout2, I was a bit disappointed - technologists faced a difficult tech tree, quests were repetitive, and combat was unsatisfying (hardly any strategy required). Still, a great setting!

Freespace 2

jnjn's rating:
250

jnjn says: I missed playing X-Wing. This came along and for a while, I was relieved. Though more frustrating to play in comparison (missiles!), the storyline allowed me to imagine a Battlestar Galactica-like setting and the cutscenes added to the atmosphere.

Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)

Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!

So, what are the ingredients?

Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?

Justify your choice... Or not!

OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
