gully_dwarf says: One of the best games ever made. It does everything that the original did, but better and with greater variety. Pure excellence.
gully_dwarf says: For me, it's debatable which is the best RPG of all time: This, or Planescape: Torment. Obviously, it hasn't aged well with the Unreal Engine, but underneath is something much greater than the sum of its parts.
gully_dwarf says: There are a great many who criticize this game for its shoddy combat - but I don't mind because I find combat in the Infinity Engine games to be a chore and pointless anyway. The story is epic, the NPCs are unique, and the depth is amazing.
gully_dwarf says: When this game came out, there really was nothing else like it. It's a product of its time, and we've seen what happens when they try to make that magic happen twice. However, for what its worth, Duke Nukem changed how FPSs were played.
gully_dwarf says: Seriously, this has to be on the list. It just does. If you were born before the 90s, and you were into CRPGs, you probably played this and Baldurs Gate, and you have an opinion on them. For me, I prefer this any day of the week.
gully_dwarf says: I was a teenager when I played Fallout 2, which for me was simply more of Fallout 1. Honestly, in retrospect, Fallout 1 is the more focused game, and the elements simply work better. But Fallout 2 was huge, and it was easy to get lost in. Very good.
gully_dwarf says: Many hours were spent combating the Vasudans and the Shivans. I replayed the mission where the Galatea is destroyed something like four times, before I realized there was absolutely no way to save the ship. It's a great space sim.
gully_dwarf says: Lords of the Realm II. Nothing better than oppressing your peasants and sacking your enemy's castles. I played this to death in junior high, with good reason. There's a lot to like.
gully_dwarf says: A strange blend of giant robots, anime, and first person shooting, SHOGO is funny, genuinely enjoyable, and has a goofy plot. It might not be a polished gem, but the creativity that went into it leaves you wanting more like it.
gully_dwarf says: THE castle building game, Stronghold is in many ways similar to Lords of the Realm (though it's entirely real-time without a Seasonal turn-based system). A great strategy game, and highly enjoyable. My biggest gripe: the maps are too cramped.
gully_dwarf says: A good, fast paced romp for single and multiplayer types bother, UT defined multiplayer FPSs, and very few games have ever managed to have the same variety that UT offered (obviously, the sequels managed it well enough). The engine hasn't aged well.
Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)
Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!
So, what are the ingredients?
Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?
Justify your choice... Or not!
OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
