Anvil of Dawn

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: Branching dialogue trees, beautiful graphics, challenging but logical puzzles, a good variety of monsters, automapping (!), decent voice acting, and classic "stab n dodge" gameplay make this a keeper even 20 years later. Docked a star for no "rest."

Ishar Compilation

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: This little-known German series of grid-based RPGs is notoriously difficult, but so much more rewarding because of it. Did outdoor environments better than any other release at the time. Still challenging and fun.

Lands of Lore™ 1+2

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: A milestone in the genre, LoL has Patrick Stewart at the top of his game, and was one of the first to successfully combine outdoor areas with dungeons. LoL2 is a bit weaker, but having them both together for less than $6 is a no-brainer.

Legend of Grimrock

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: One of the best grid-based, action rpgs ever made. Takes predecessors such as Dungeon Master and brings them into the 21st century. Tons of UGC, and the editor is incredible. I've spent hundreds of hours playing it & building my own mods. A must buy.

Might and Magic® 6-pack: Limited Edi...

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: The first 2 are harder (stairs are invisible; you can only save at inns), and the 6th isn't grid based, but this is one of the classic series of the genre, for too many reasons to list here. Pt. 3 is my fave; the series really takes off from there.

Realms of Arkania 1+2

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: Another series originating from Germany, these are very difficult and realistic but so incredibly rewarding. Characters not only have positive attributes but negative ones as well. Health, demeanor, climate, phobias all play important roles. Awesome.

Stonekeep

SpiderFighter's rating:

SpiderFighter says: Buggy release made it unplayable, but fun now, even with its low-rez graphics. No big genre changes, but interactive journal is nice, as is Bethesda-styled leveling (use a skill to increase it). Not a classic, but certainly worth playing.

System Shock™ 2

Wizardry 6 + 7

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: Not for genre newbies, these are brutally challenging games (not even from Germany for a change!) featuring tons of items, monsters, puzzles, traps, and complex dungeons, Arguably the best of the series. Oh, and part 6? No automap. Have fun!

Wizardry 8

SpiderFighter's rating:
250

SpiderFighter says: More free-movement than grid, but still turn-based, and concludes the story set up in Wizardry 6 & 7.

Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)

Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!

So, what are the ingredients?

Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?

Justify your choice... Or not!

OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
