Old School RPG Goodness

Neverwinter Nights: Diamond Edition

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: The "OC" sucks, so start with the "Shadows of Undrentide" campaign. That said, this is the best cRPG of all time. It's claim to fame is the mountain of fan content (CC) and it's amazing multiplayer (MP) client. Solid SP play also, though.

Neverwinter Nights 2: Complete

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: This is a great game. It's a bit resource intensive, but most of the bugs that plagued release have been squashed. It has a superior SP campaign and client to NWN1, but the complexity of the toolset and graphics engine has hurt the game's CC&MP side.

Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: Go for the eyes Boo! GO FOR THE EYES! BG set a standard for western cRPGs that stands to this day. While NWN is the king of multiplayer cRPGs, BG (and BG2) are the best SP games on the market.

Baldur's Gate 2 Complete

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: Sequels DON'T always suck. In fact BG2 is actually BETTER than the original. Don't skip BG though. This game is much more fun when you import your BG character and continue your adventure...

Psychonauts

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: OK... Psychonauts isn't strictly speaking an RPG, but the gameplay is SO immersive it might as well be. I CANNOT recommend it highly enough so pack your bags. You're going back to school...

Planescape: Torment

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: While using the same game engine this is a very different experience from BG and BG2. Dark and funny this adventure takes you to the city of doors and forces you into the role of an unlikely hero...

or

Icewind Dale Complete

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: Look, this game is just OK next to Baldur's Gate, but standing alone it's good. There is no party dynamic and it's very linear, so don't go in looking for a hardcore RPG, but it's a first class D&D hack 'n Slasher.

or

Icewind Dale 2 Complete

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: Another great D&D hack fest. Again, the RP element of the game is pretty lame, but it's a great action adventure.

Temple of Elemental Evil, The

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: OK, this game get's a bad rap. Yes it's buggy. Yes it was clearly rushed. Yes everybody in town is running around with short swords because they never bothered to model the townsfolk. But this is still a really fun game despite it's blemishes.

Gothic

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: Look, this isn't a masterpiece, but it's fun. It's a solid game with a sandbox feel and an interesting story.

removeupdown
or

Gothic 2 Gold Edition

urknighterrant's rating:
250

urknighterrant says: This is another case of a sequel being better than the original. I wouldn't say it belongs on your bucket list, but then... what video game does? Save frequently. This game has some nasty but wholly forgivable bugs.

Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)

Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!

So, what are the ingredients?

Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?

Justify your choice... Or not!

OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
