Phokal says: Just the first part in a single, massive, connected trilogy. A must-play if you want to bring a lowly level 1 DnD character up to the epic tier over hundreds of hours. BG2:Throne Expansion would be considered a full game by any standards.

Phokal says: With an expansion larger than most RPG's, BG2 reaches epic status. It achieves both a large sense of scale and small/personal, it is the rare game that manages to be both world-saving and soul-searching. Recommend to play BG1 1st for complete tale.

Phokal says: An excellent game in a dead genre today. Story is flimsy when compared to the Wing Commander series, but the gameplay is 2nd best only to its own sequel.

Phokal says: A unique RPG. When played without a walkthrough, expect that you may lose your first playthrough since your quest has an actual time limit instead of the illusion of urgency. Great setting, visceral combat, excellent dialog and choices. Fun.

Phokal says: With only a year turn-around, this sequel is still a classic. Some weaknesses when compared to the first, but a few stand-out moments and new twists still make this a must-play for an RPG fan (after playing Fallout 1).

Phokal says: An incredible platforming experience with a rewind mechanic to remove frustration while maintaining the steep challenge of the original. Perfectly transitioned into 3d with semi-auto-corrected jumps but still gives the player full control.
