High Fantasy, Grand Strategy5votes I like it
OrcaJoe says: Heroes is, for my money, the finest grand strategy series of our time, and H3 represents its peak. If you only try out one game in this set, make it this one.
OrcaJoe says: H3 may be the series' best, but thanks to nostalgia, H2 is my favorite. The third game brought about lots of improvements, but this one sure set the bar high!
OrcaJoe says: H1 hasn't aged well compared to its successors, mostly due to how good 2 and 3 are--it's an excellent game, but the others are just that much better. Still, it's worth a try to see how the franchise got started.
OrcaJoe says: H4 represents a bit of a step backwards for the franchise. It's not a bad game, per se, but it departs from the form and style of the first three. Worth a try, but don't go in with super high expectations (especially if you've played H2 or H3).
OrcaJoe says: Can't get enough of H3? This title might be just what you're looking for--it's basically a set of extra campaigns meant to provide a bridge between H3 and H4. Gameplay is identical to H3, but with a refreshing added emphasis on story.
OrcaJoe says: MoM is like a mashup of Heroes and Civilization (and curiously, a lot like King's Bounty, the predecessor to Heroes). It's more 4X than grand strategy, but has loads of depth and replayability. A must-play, especially for the price.
OrcaJoe says: A very solid grand strategy game with interesting city-building options and a complex variety of magic to research. My favorite entry in the AoW series, thanks to its simplicity.
OrcaJoe says: Good game with beautiful presentation, but for some reason I never got into it like I did Heroes. Still, a great choice for any grand strategy fan.
OrcaJoe says: At first glance, this seems like little more than an expansion to AoW2, but the amount of new content is certainly impressive. If you like AoW2, definitely give it a go.
OrcaJoe says: This game has some very noticeable flaws, but I can't dislike it--it has a lot of heart going for it. I'm not a fan of the battle system, but there are quite a few neat features to the game making it an interesting alternative to the Heroes formula.
Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)
Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!
So, what are the ingredients?
Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?
Justify your choice... Or not!
OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
