Classic PC Collection3votes I like it
Stayce says: The finest RPG I have ever played bar none. It actually encourages roleplaying! This game developed my understanding of narrative and how a great adventure is about the inner journey and not the world ending plot surrounding it.
Stayce says: The finest entry in the Gabriel Knight series, Sins of the Fathers boasts a fine pulpy mystery with a dash of the occult and horror thrown in to make for an atmospheric and enjoyable adventure. The stellar voice cast make it all the more engaging.
Stayce says: While I am partial to the original System Shock, System Shock 2 was overall a better designed and tighter title. One of the few truly horrific games, the lineage of so many other great games can be traced back to the Shock series.
Stayce says: A living world of action and remarkable beauty despite its age. This classic offers an experience with enough depth and breadth to lose yourself in for days at a time.
Stayce says: Overshadowed by the subsequent release of Total Annihilation, Dark Reign remains on of the most sophisticated of the original RTS wave that started with Command and Conquer. A under appreciated largely forgotten classic.
Stayce says: A truly incredible slice of horror that later delves into surreal fantasy, Undying is an often chilling, if always over the top title that boasts substantial production values for its day. Slick and atmospheric, I will never forget Undying
Stayce says: My personal favourites of the Space Combat sub genre, Wing Commander was Origin again living up to their slogan and creating a fun, campy space opera masterpiece. Ancient, but still charming, these titles can still hold up as pure arcade fun.
Stayce says: Gaming's original big budget epic, Wing Commander 3 boasts a substantial amount of gameplay beneath the glossy hollywood veneer. Not on the same gameplay level as contemporaries such as X-Wing or Freespace, these games remain my favourites
Stayce says: The apex of the Wing Commander series. The 3rd titles rougher edges have been sanded down and the whole game still feels glossy and polished. Big budget, well written, and solid gameplay make for an engaging and fun experience all round.
Stayce says: The game with gameplay so good it pretty much ended its genre. Freespace 2 is undoubtedly the king of its genre and has not been surpassed all these years later. A game of spectacle and tight mechanics and control, make sure to add Freespace Open.
Stayce says: The beginning of one of the greatest sagas in gaming history and one of the larges and deepest RPG's money can buy. If you are after a game that will take over your life then look no further. Baldur's Gate has got you covered.
Stayce says: The epic continues and concludes with this frankly enormous title. Boasting up to 200 hrs of gameplay and an improved level of presentation, Baldur's Gate 2 is the game the truly put Bioware on the map. Deserving of its reputation.
Stayce says: An Origin title, but a true origin for Looking Glass Entertainment, Ultima Underworld is responsible for more games than I can count. The ultimate extrapolation of gameplay pioneered by Dungeon Master, the Underworld games a true classics.
Stayce says: As much a world simulation as a game, Ultima VII was the finest realisation of the Ultima formula ever committed to floppy disk. Later titles would shift their focus to other elements, but would never top this, the finest installment in the series.
Stayce says: The finest iteration of its series, Heroes 3 is an incredibly tight and well designed strategy title that will keep you up all night with its compulsive one more turn gameplay.
Stayce says: It's reputation tarnished by the mediocre later efforts, Tomb Raider 1 remains a true classic of its time. A revolution in how game were realised, its level design, and soundtrack combine into an eerily beautiful and haunting experience
Stayce says: The control's hold this game back from true classic status. It has aged somewhat, but the ability of creators Origin to create believable worlds shines in this title. A stark and brutal title, Bioforge is a truly cinematic game in all the right ways.
Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)
Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!
So, what are the ingredients?
Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?
Justify your choice... Or not!
OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
