Best RPG's on list and why (34yrs of gaming)

GOGmix by drewmaxon's avatardrewmaxon 15votes

Heroes of Might and Magic® 3: Complete

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: For turn based fantasy strategy, ...it is the best. Why is this better than HOMMII? It is just a matter of a couple more bells and whistles. (However, nothing beats the music from HOMM2) The on-line community maps/campaigns are awesome too.

Heroes of Might and Magic® 2: Gold

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: For gamers like me these games are comfort food 1) easy to play 2) easy to get sucked in like a good book 3) I also believe there were good community maps. also just be careful, there will be times that you look up and see it getting light outside.

Gothic 2 Gold Edition

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: The Gothic series is just a must play for RPG fans. The best thing is that from 1 thru 4, the graphics and game play aren't too different, so it is one of those series you can play from beginning to end without it looking like different games.

Baldur's Gate 2 Complete

drewmaxon says: I doubt anyone needs to know anything about these, including Neverwinter, etc...

Arx Fatalis

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: Same as above, but I think I either hated the ending, computer crashed, or was too dumb to figure out end game...don't remember...but remember it was one I loved at some point.

Might and Magic® 6-pack: Limited Edi...

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: There was nothing better in the beginning. (I had to do my own mapping on graph paper in MM2) ...ok..the Ultima series was its contemporary...these two series were the top of RPG's for years.) I don't know if they are replayable for me now.

Betrayal at Krondor Pack

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: tried my best to get through this again...I had it when it came out but never finished, too many bugs...graphics are painful! too linear for me these days....( do you remember how we use to get patches for games? a disk in the mail weeks later)

Warlords Battlecry 3

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: before there was HOMM...there was Warlord's. I obviously prefer HOMM.

Two Worlds

drewmaxon's rating:
250

drewmaxon says: I did not find this game as awful as others did. It was playable, predictable, but I have played much much worse. ...Try playing Elder Scroll's 2. Largest linear buggy crap of all time.

Planescape: Torment

drewmaxon's rating: not rated yet
250

drewmaxon says: I am trying to play this...currently I have FF13 to finish. This game didn't do well when it came out back in the day. I know the folklore. I will attempt to finish. But after games like Oblivion, how do you go back?

Treat your GOGmix as your child - name it! ;)

Coming up with a cool and descriptive title should be your first priority. Being original is in your best interest - bet you wanna get lots of nice votes, right? Go all crazy if you want, but be sure to keep it civil!

So, what are the ingredients?

Pick a game that belongs in your GOGmix from the list, or find it by typing something in the text field. Relevance is key here - Earthworm Jim doesn't quite fit the "Sexiest heroines of all time" bill now, does it?

Justify your choice... Or not!

OK, so it's not required, but now that you went through the trouble of adding a game, telling everyone why you did it would be a nice finishing touch. After you're done here, add another game, rinse, repeat.
