One hot night in Palermo, Italy, a terrible fight broke out in one of the streets of the old town. The sound of gunfire, screams, and yelling filled the night air; the next morning Chico Mangano was found, shot dead, on the pavement. A gun was located close to the scene and with the evidence of two eyewitnesses; the conclusion was that three of Chico’s brothers, Romano, Angelo, and Sonny were responsible for the murder; Police began an intensive manhunt to find the three brothers but failed. They had vanished. Two years passed on the small Mediterranean island and one day Grandpa Mangano received a phone call from far away. The call was from his eldest son, Vincenzo Mangano, who had left Sicily decades ago. Vincenzo said that the three brothers had been seen alive and well in the same city that Vincenzo lived. Grandpa Mangano dispatched his fifth grandson to start working for Vincenzo, and then, when he was strong and powerful, to hunt down and kill the three murderous brothers. He sent him to America, to Paradise City.
Gangland is very unique game that combines many different genres. The mix of such a divergent themes works surprisingly well and give the player a vast selection of options when trying to outplay the opposing families. In addition, the developers did an excellent job in creating a gangster movie-like atmosphere with corrupted cops, ruthless mobsters, and deceiving women. This is a game where crime pays - and it pays a lot.

Amazing game. Enough? :D
Basically the game has you micromanaging your gang empire. The more missions you complete, the higher in ranks (in the Mafia) you rise, the more weapons and cars you have available. Soon, you will start feeling the need to overthrow your uncle, and take leadership of the Mafia.
Once you are the leader of your Mafia, you start acquiring distillery factories, read more shops, restaurants, motels, hotels, garages, car shops, to generate weapons, tools, money, alcohol, and various other things for you. This attracts the police, but you can always fight them, or put them on your payroll.
The multiplayer was amazingly fun, basically, several players start building their empires in the same city. Soon you'd see shady deals happening, wars going on, buildings being destroyed (yes, that can happen too)...
For 6 dollars, it is an amazing value.

This game blends RPG, RTS, management, and mafia element quite well.
For the RPG aspect, Mario can gain level from defeating enemies, use money to buy weapons and bullets for himself and the other gang members. And although NPC interaction is bit limited, Mario can marry with other woman later on, and he can have sons who have varied talents. Although bit shallow, seeing Marioread more becoming stronger and your goons owning other gang is quite satisfying to watch.
For the RTS element, you can micromanage your goons, and there are ALOT of different members you can recruit. From stereotypical bouncer to some cheesy but deadly Japanese ninjas.. Hell there are a lot of variety. What's surprising is that these units have speciality of their own, and it depends on your wit and ability to use them wisely to win a gang war. I think that RTS element is perhaps the strongest point of this game. You have to manage your turfs, which provide you with money, while attacking or terrorizing other gangs.
For the Mafia element.. Yes, the story is very cliched type, and there are no really special characters to mention.. However, the atmosphere the game creates is quite decent on its own.
So for the summary, you might think that this game does not really contain much innovation presented in games such as 'Boss' and 'Mafia', its quite a fun RTS on its own. Multiplayer can be quite fun with RPG and RTS elements combined, and managing your Mafia empire with your goons is quite fun.
Overall, I recommend this game. For few bucks, you will have hours of entertainment.

If you are in for some criminal action and have enough of GTA, Mafia, etc., then this might be worth a try.
The game is a mix out of RPG and RTS: you become more powerful by gaining experience and can control more units. Doesn`t sound bad? Well, it isn`t bad, but you are always doing the same in the campaign. Expand business, ice special persons (sometimes with a timelimit) andread more kill one or more bosses. If it wasn`t that repetitive I`d maybe play it for a further while, but I`ve uninstalled it in the meantime.
So if you like such games, you could be happy with it. Other people might consider trying another game, for their first steps in such kind of games.
Also nice: The voice of the main character sounds pretty much like John St. john (Duke Nukem)
