o·mer·ta (-mûrt, mr-tä) - A rule or code that prohibits speaking or divulging information about the activities of a criminal organization.
Bug-eyed Bettys are making a racket with “lips that touch wine, won’t kiss mine” and not minding their own beeswax. The fuzz are busy closing down the local juice joints and pouring perfectly good spirits down the drain. All this fuss about liquor sure can drive a man to drink. It isn’t easy to wet one’s whistle but there some bootleggers who are always happy to provide as long as you got the scratch.

Work your way up the criminal hierarchy of 1920’s Atlantic City, starting with small jobs, recruiting new gang members and expanding your empire by taking territory from other mobsters. Establish your own crime syndicate and become the de facto ruler of Atlantic City!

To me at least, this was a complete waste of money. The so called "sandbox" mode is just you spending some time to "beat" the level.
There is no competition, no one to fight, no trying to muscle in on you. You just build up, paying off police now and then to lose "heat" until you own everything in the *miniscule* maps available.
If you enjoy, short, predictable games that youread more can win with ease then you'll like this.
If you were hoping for a gangster strategy game...there is no strategy in this, non what so ever. Strategy, requires opponents, what this game has feels more like quests than anything else.

It was very sad to see just how "lite" this game turned out to be. Mafia type of games don't come along very often so when they do I usually jump at them hoping that they're a deep and fun simulation type of game to play.
Sandbox IMO is too lite in features to even be called a sandbox mode.
Having the auto resolve feature is a blessing because after a while the fights becomeread more either so mundane or so infuriating that you need the ability to just press a button and hope for the best.
It's not entirely a bad game but it would take some really substantial updates to make it a winner in my opinion and that as most of us know is not something that either Haemimont or Kalypso are really known for doing.
All in all I'd have to say just wait on this one until GOG has it for $2.99 or maybe stretch to $4.99 but steer clear at $39.99, it's really just not worth it in it's current state and you'll likely walk away feeling like you've been sucker punched right in the gut if you buy this in it's current form at full price.

The game has potential but lacks a good many tools. There's no such thing as a pannel to review your current businesses. The floating icon on top of your buildings wont let you know what type of business you did there, just lets you know out of three sorts, which one it is. The AI is pretty predictable. It would be an okay game for 5-10 $.
The Battles are a welcome relief althoughread more and there's a decent mix of situations there. The challenge on that part is alright. The except for a few mecanics, it's hard to properly control heat, like and fear. No specific amount of influence being tagged to each building types. There's no proper way to Gauge it.
So, basically a short game lacking on a lot of aspects for the price of it. Feels more like a tablet game than a computer one.
