This is my first review. I usually just read them. You owe it to yourself if you are a gamer to try the Journeyman Project 2 out, I swear on everything that is holy that you will not be disappointed. I have rarely had a problem with GOG ports, so I trust this one will not be any different, so I am just focusing on the game itself for this review.
The idea of time travel itselfread more is novel, but combine it with the first person adventure experience, some of the most beautiful musical score ever heard for the time, and unique interactions with characters that stir your emotions and you are bound for a journey unlike any other.
When I was 13 or 14, I found this game in a bargain bin for $5 at a local K-Mart. I fell in love with the mysterious box art and instantly took it to the register to buy it. It was my first and since has been my only real foray into first person exploration / puzzle games. Everything I saw and experienced amazed me. Modern games like mass effect 2 and bioshock (even i dare say system shock 2) have only begun to explore the territory that was chartered with this gem of a game.
I even got stuck at one time, and strategy guides were not exactly popular for PC games like this one. So I decided to call number on the back of the instruction manual (Presto Studios) and lo and behold an actual receptionist answered! I asked if i could get a walkthrough of the game, and said I was a big fan (this was before internet access was available in my area, in fact I didn't even know how to use the internet, let alone what it was.) Two weeks later, I received a manila envelope in the mail with a thank you letter on company letterhead that was personally signed, along with a detailed walkthrough. I would never forget that feeling, even though I have since lost both the game and the walkthrough.
Thank you GOG, for allowing others to experience this unique journey.

I want to apologise in advance for the wanton display of fanboyism which is about to occur...
OMG OMG OMG! Journeyman's finally on GOG! I love you! I love these games! The whole trilogy takes my top spot on the list of "my fave games ever". They were almost toppled by Chrono Trigger at one point (I seem to love time travel themes) but I just couldn't replaceread more this work of art!
Gage Blackwood and his sidekick(don't want to ruin it) are the best duo in any adventure game I've ever played. There's a perfect balance between informative and useful(providing hints). And there's just a lot of humour and personality integrated into conversations.
The other thing is. The original came out before Myst. Yet Myst got all the glory. Not only does this series (in my opinion) have better graphics than Myst, it plays out more like a traditional adventure game (think monkey island) rather than the "puzzles surrounded by pretty backdrops" of Myst. So yes, I'm a little bitter against Myst (however Presto were roped in to make the third game in that series).
And the music, oh God the music. It may be the only soundtrack which gives me goosebumps to this day (*points at arm* see, I'm getting them now just remembering it).
Anyway, to sum up: Buy this if you like adventure games, buy this if you like Myst, buy this if you like time travel storylines. And just buy it to honour the passion of a group of developers who left the industry way too soon*.
Thank you, GOG :).
*I must point out however, that individual people from Presto are with "in" the industry at other larger publishers or making iPhone/iPad apps.

I usually lurk on here waiting for some awesome game to be released but wasnt expecting one of my all time favourites to be re-released!!!
This game was one of the first i played as a kid that had full motion video incorporated in to a mystery/puzzle type setting. I absolutely love this game from its amazing imagery, memorable one-liners, and a great sense of urgency when you'reread more on the search for the rogue agent from the TSA.
Seriously, i cant recommend this game enough to people who are looking for a really immersive, challenging adventure game!
