Azriel Odin, ex-assassin, arrives on the rain-drenched planet of Barracus. When things go horribly wrong, he can only seek help from the very criminals he used to work for.
Meanwhile, across the galaxy, a man called Delta-Six wakes up in a hospital with no memory. Without knowing where to turn or who to trust, he vows to escape before he loses his identity completely. As fate brings these two closer together, you’ll discover a world where life is cheap, identities are bought and sold, and a quest for redemption can change the fate of a whole galaxy.
Gemini Rue will delight you with its moody background music, gritty atmosphere, and a story that will leave you thinking about the very nature of the human psyche and even free will. This is a must-have for classic pixel art, point-and-click adventure, and noir detective stories fans alike!

Gemini Rue is one of those games that doesn't leave the perfect first impression. It looks like a tired and boring cyberpunk clone from 90s P&C graphic adventures hiding behind the fact that it's an indie game. But since first impression for this kind of game is the last thing you should trust, after a bit of playing and getting involved in the story, you'll realize what a greatread more and respectable adventure is hidden in GR.
First of all, GR truly delivers a very classy cyberpunk atmosphere. Notice the screenshots posted here and the grim and depressing looks of the city. It's one of the great achievements of the game to deliver such a precise atmosphere ( one of the main requirement for the cyberpunk genre ) without the help of any high tech visual effects.
Second of all, GR has one of the best plot twists I have ever seen in any game, movie, fiction and any other form of storytelling. It's one of those plot twists that is hard to see it coming before the point it's revealed, but there are enough clues during the game for it to make a perfect sense. In other words, the best kind of plot twist.
Unfortunately, most of the GR puzzles are either easy or unforgettable for serious adventure fans and it's a part that brings the game down. But since GR is clearly a story and character based game and it's extremely satisfying and professional in that field, you can easily turn a blind eye into this underdeveloped part of the game.
Overall, GR is a great effort to make a long gone yet glorious genre feel a bit alive again. A game that is made by talent and passion. Absolutely recommended.

Gemini Rue is one of those games that only comes around once in a great while. It's one oft the few games I've played where after I finish it, I don't just say "Yeah, that was pretty good" and go on to something else. No, with Gemini Rue, you'll still be thinking about days after you finish it.
Everything just seemed to come together for this game. The art style and hand drawnread more graphics are breathtaking and incredibly atmospheric, the story is almost unrivaled in its impact on you, the voice acting is top notch, and best of all, it has one of the most emotional, atmospheric soundtracks I've ever heard in a game.
Some reviewers seem to dislike the easy puzzles, and while I admit they won't keep you stumped for too long, I felt that it worked with the game perfectly. It kept a wonderful flow in the story, thanks to not being slowed down by difficult, non logical puzzles. If anything, the puzzles just help in absorbing you into the story.
And that's where this game shines, it has one of the most thought provoking stories I've seen in many, many years. I'd go so far as to say it's one of the best in gaming history.
Simply stated, it's one of, if not THE best piece of interactive fiction I've ever experienced. Considering the price, it's a wonder you haven't bought it already.
You should remedy this...

It's up there with Machinarium in the modern realm, and Beneath The Steel Sky in terms of atmosphere, intrigue and setting. The graphics greatly enhance the ambiance of the game, and the story makes it a game that you will definitely revisit! A true classic... It's a shame that the creator will seemingly not be composing another game in the near future.
