I haven't tried this myself yet, but here's a fix to make the game(s) playable in the modern resolutions:

thanks for info ;]

just bought it, gog and mod are the same version 2.1.4.0 and after one scenario played there was no problems.

Love the way old 2D games look i hi-res
This is great, it makes the game a lot better on modern PC's. Thanks!
yea it's very well done, he even went to the trouble of rescaling all the background jpegs of the various menu screens, anyone playing this on widescreen should have it.
The hi-res files work very nicely.
Just remember to set the resolution in-game to 1024x768 and not 800x600.

And even though my monitor's native resolution is 1680x1050, I found it easier on the eyes to use a lower set (1440x900 in my case) otherwise everything is so small it strains your eyes. But that's my own preference.

Here's a direct link to the second (fixed) version which is found at the link the OP posted but a little further down. In case you're too lazy to go clicking around.

Just extract the 7z into your main Zeus folder. And make sure it overwrites the old files. If you want you can back up the old stuff. (In case you didn't want to search for the instructions.)

I can't seem to get this fix working.

I'm supposed to just extract the folder into the main zeus folder yes?

Yeah, then, after starting a game (so that you're in the map), select the 1024x768 resolution from the Options -> Display menu.

ed: you also have to choose the correct resolution from the folders, and copy its contents into the main Zeus folder. This replaces Zeus.exe and certain bitmaps, unless you make backups.

Aw, no 1366x768? Ah well, I'll use one of the lower ones. Thanks for the link. :)

HELP!!!! I'm having a terrible time with this.

First I had to get something to unpack the 7Z file. Then, no readme.txt.

I have the GOG Zeus installed.

I unzipped the Zeus.7z into my Zeus directory. Crash. I copied the 1920x1080 file content (a DATA folder and the Zeus.exe) into my Zeus directory. Crash.

This sounds so great but all I've managed to do is make Zeus unplayable.

Is there a detailed step by step installation process for this anywhere?

It's saying it can't find the Data\Zeus\Fonts.

Please help! It would be a dream come true to run this in a higher resolution. Or to run it at all. I've got over an hour involved in this and cannot get it working.

you just need to move the DATA and zeus exe from the required resolution under Zeus installation directory (default is C:/program files/GOG.com/Zeus) and replace all when you get the prompt (I would just doing a backup though first).
Since it seems you messed something up, I would suggest uninstall then re-install and try what I just described.

The WS has been working perfectly for me although its giving me trouble with Pharaoh+Cleopatra.

Thanks for this. :) Fast download, copied only data folder and zeus.exe...overwrote the files and it worked out of the box. A lot better in game with the high resolution.
