Seeing as these games have their origins on consoles I was wondering if the pc version offers controller support?

Yes they do.

They were all released on PC first though and Origin is even PC exclusive.

They work great with a XBOX controller, that's all I can say.

I've played Ys Origin almost exclusively with the 360 controller, although the configuration of buttons by default was bad so i had to use the configuration to reset it near the end of the game when jumping was needed to beat a boss...

Although with a wired controller, make sure it's turned on and recognized by the computer before starting the game

i played ys origin on windows 8.1.
i used a ps3 controller and it turned out 110% wonderful
i used the better ds tool, with the default 360 button mapping applied to the ps3 controller,
which worked perfectly with defaults,
and the only driver software available for ps3 controllers on windows

Having it's origins on consoles? Umm..Ys was mainly a home computer series starting it's life way back on the Japanese NEC PC 88 line of home computers and really It wasn't until I say around maybe Ys 7 that the series went console only and handheld at that.

Technically yes and technically no. Yes there were two versions of Ys 4 one for the Turbo/PC engine CD and one for the SNES but they were not produced by Falcom but NEC/Hudson and Tonkin House respectively and were based on some input from Falcom but the real Ys 4 the one actually done by Falcom, Ys: Memories of Celceta was on PC and PSP.

Right, but that's a sort of remake (more a replacement) done years later. My point was that the series went console only earlier on than you said. I know the two Ys IVs were different games and neither made by Falcom, but they were still official *and* console only.
