I figured I might as well float out there the interest in seeing these games for Mac. As an original owner of the games back in the 90's (I still have my discs!) I'd love to see a Mac version of them. Yes, I can run around that with a wrapper and/or DOSbox but I'd LOVE to have a version that just runs natively on Mac.

Keep up the good work GOG!

The first two games work natively on Mac with OpenXcom. A engine recreation for Apocalypse has been started, but there isn't anything playable yet.
As a technological neophyte, I got lost somewhere around trying to figure out all the folders and the stuff I have to enter into each. I own Steam copies of all the X-COM games too, but lack the basic understanding and requisite trouble-shooting knowhow to get the Open X-COM installation figured out. Probably equal parts laziness and fear keep me from really tackling it.

Until I do ... I'll keep wishing, hoping, praying for a Mac version of X-COM. : )
Well, to answer my own question ... it appears that there is a Wine wrapper available via Paulthetall and the PortingKit that will play them on Mac. Happy day!!!!

The wine wrapper is still a wrapper...;)

I previously thought all "wrappers" would require me to really fool around with the conversational innards of my Mac; fortunately the PortingKit is perfect for us non-techonologically advanced gamers. ; )

"If you love her ... put a wrapper on it" And I do love my Mac. : 0
